    Decent car boot sales in west / north yorkshire

    Try whitley bridge car boot just off the m62 @ j 34 (A19) . Or Rufforth car boot near York. I was going for quite a few weeks before I started and the only thing I found was a Wilkinson starter fv kit to make 20 pints. Imho I think your better off looking on eBay for cheap stuff locally . :cheers:

    How long to leave Coopers original Stout

    Stout, too late for Christmas?

    I too have just put a coopers stout on with 500g extra dme and 500 g wheat malt and made up to 22 litres . On day 2 it had blown all the water out of the air lock and some stout all over the lid of the fv but it smells lovely tho . :cheers:

    Simply, Mild Kit

    Lack of head

    Just done a mild same as this, made with dark spray malt and dextrose Lovely carbonation but no head it looks like a glass of cola (but tastes a lot better than cola) :cheers: Dorrian

    First Cider brew with Ritchies On The Rocks Apple Cider

    Was looking at one of these kits in my lhbs yesterday and couldn't decide between the straight apple or one of the flavoured ones . Think ill pick the apple one up next time I pass to put in my barrel :cheers:

    Priming - Dextrose or White Sugar?

    I prime with normal sugar , I have tried dextrose to prime but I find I get better carbonation using normal sugar :cheers:

    I call at one on my way to work but to be honest I only call if I need anything quite quickly as when you go in the owner doesn't seem to want to help you very much . To be honest I don't know why people are in business if they're like that :cheers:

    I have one of these kits as my next batch and on reading this thread like the sound of using muscovado sugar and a kilo of dme not sure I want the coffee and vanilla in but it will be my first attempt at stout so I may tweak my next batch :cheers:
