    High Starting Gravity

It is, and i did think that, i would have had to decant some wort to make space, i left it in the end - whats the worst that could happen, itll either be nice and strong or absolutely rank lol

    High Starting Gravity

Hi, Thanks for the reply, i left it in the end. I used 1 pack of saflager w34/70 - im not sure if the issue is i'm fermenting under pressure and its giving a false reading - lesson for next time is to grab a refractometer or a hydrometer and test before hand

    High Starting Gravity

Hi, so I’ve done my second brew, I decided to ferment in a corny. I started with 14l mash water, sparged with 13l and post boil ended up with 19l which was expected, I’m making a lager and used 2kg of lager malt, 2kg of pale malt, 500g of crushed maize. I cooked and decanted it into the keg...

Pro gas is another, that’s who I use actually, I don’t think express gas do co2, that’s who I used to use for lpg, I got them mixed up as they’re next to each other near my work lol

    Temperature control for beer kits

NICE!! I love that idea. I'm heavily into marine fish/tanks/coral and have a couple of spare aquarium chillers, also one that heats too, and had considered a similar setup, almost like a grainfather glycol chiller/heater but decided thats down the line for now, concentrate on the basics before i...

    Typical Brew Day?

Thanks guys, i had 6-7hrs in my head, so it will have to be a weekend realistically for me. Weighing everything out the night before is a good shout, and i intended on getting a notebook, it seems to be one of the most recommended things to do. I'm not expecting it to go to plan, so i will make...

    Typical Brew Day?

So I've read some of the threads on here and watched loads of YouTube vids, but I'm curious how long a typical brew day is for you? I will be doing my first AGB in the next couple of weeks, and wanted to know how much time realistically i need to plan for. Thanks :)

    Temperature control for beer kits

My Inkbird and tube heater came yesterday so I've been having a play - i'm happy with the performance, i thought maybe the cooling side would take ages as when i initially turned the fridge on it took a good few hours to start cooling - but that's not the case. What value have you put in for...

Tower cooling on a DIY kegerator

Nice one - thank you - my bar is a 21ft x 10ft cabin in the garden, i have aircon fitted for when I'm in there, but when I'm not it gets pretty toast in there so i think a fan will help, that being said, this kegerator will end up in the shed, the bar is already full, I've got a Heineken David...

Tower cooling on a DIY kegerator

I'll take a pic for you tonight - but yes to keep the lines cool, helps reduce fobbing i assume.

    Temperature control for beer kits

Yeah I've seen that :) but what i mean is how quickly from the fridge compressor kicking in does it start to cool?
