    3 weeks cold conditioning

Cheers bud. Yeah I had a little taste when I was bottling and even then I could see that it was gonna be good. Hop hop hoppy. Those pellets seem to really lift it. I may well get another one of these. Cheeeeeeeers t

    3 weeks cold conditioning

Hey Brew dudes! I have just bottled up some Razorback IPA this week. After the 14 days 2nd condition period it says to keep it somewhere cool for 3 weeks. Space is a bit of an issue for me so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to where I could keep my three crates. I was thinking...

    bottle Conditioning question

Hello brewer dudes. I have anooooother question: In the 2nd bottle condition period where you 'put it in a cool place' do you think putting it outside (it's getting a bit cold - single digits) will be ok? Will it still condition out there? I bottled about 4 weeks ago kept then inside for 2...

    Rookie Mistake!

Thanks peeps. Ok I'm going for it, I don't like the sound of lightning bolts up my jacksie! and I don't wanna anger the mighty Gods of beer! Just have to do another one next time. Such a stupid mistake. just goes to show. Don't be too casual! Hopping man I was. (you see what I did there?)...

    Rookie Mistake!

Daaaaaaamn! I am so annoyed at myself at the moment. Just made up the St Peters IPA double can beer kit. I mis-read the instructions. So you start with 3.5 lts of boiling water and where it said top up to 19 litres I stupidly topped up with 19 litres. Such a dumb error. So my brew is 22.5...

    bottle Conditioning

Hey peeps. Quick question: When bottle conditioning (a Burtons summer Ale) can I use the left over brewing sugar or is it best to use regular granulated sugar? All instructions say about a half tea spoon per 500ml - would this be the same for brewing sugar? Many thanks in advance. Tony.

    Harvest Pilsner Lager

Hello all. Bit of a advice for a new fish if you will! So I made my first brew a few months back - Harvest Pilsner Lager starter kit - everything went well. I did the initial ferment for 13 days (using granulated sugar) in a dark room-temp cupboard and activity slowed down so I bottled it all...

    Youngs Harvest Pilsner review

I just made this recently - my first ever brew. I followed the instructions pretty bang on. Let the first ferment go about 13 days and bottle conditioned in a dark cupboard for just over two months. I don't have space in my little flat to cool them all for a significant amount of time...

    Vietnam beers

Ha. I loved the beer in Vietnam! I was there in 2006. There are little pop up beer joints in the Old town of Ha Noi - usually a couple who get a keg or two from the big brewrey - they call it 'fresh beer' - I'm not sure if it was strictly legal or what but you sit around on the roadside with the...

    The cool Conditioning Period

Great information. Many thanks. I love you guys! And I'm not even drunk right now! One last thing to quell my fear. Which is the stage where bottle bombs are most likely? I think I'm gonna put these into a couple of cool bags and keep them zipped up on my balcony outside for the next month or...

    The cool Conditioning Period

Ok So Last Friday I bottled up a brew of pilsner lager. (my first attempt) (no bottle bombs to report - so far). Now the bottles have been sitting in a cupboard at room temp for about a week. I don't really have much space and no chance of any space in the fridge. A) How important is it to...

    Bricking it!

Ok, So I did my first ever brew the other week. (a Pilsner lager starter kit) I brewed on a Saturday and 13 days later on Friday I bottled them all up - washed, sterilised, rinsed and was pretty thorough. I checked the batch with a hydrometer and it seemed to be ok kinda hard to read but it was...

    Hello all

Right my home brew starter kit arrived in the post today so I'm jumping in this weekend! I've never brewed beer before so I have a looooot to learn. But I love beer and can't wait to get started. My long term plan is to move to the country and brew beer with the aim of starting up a small...
