    Too good to be true?

Has anyone heard of these guys? https://www.outfittasks.top/ They claim to be able to provide all-grain brewing systems at a crazy low price. Their webpage looks pretty legit but surely it's a scam? Any thoughts?

    Adding Treacle

Hi. I made a coopers stout and used a full tin of treacle with 1kg of brewing sugar but I have to say I think the taste of treacle is too overwhelming. I would add at max a half tin and possible other fermentable sugars (honey or golden syrup).

    diferent sugars??

Hi. I only do kits but here's my experiences... I've used treacle, honey and golden syrup in a few of my brews. Treacle is OK but if you use too much it overwhelms the brew so at most keep treacle to half a tin. Honey is fab in brews but NOT orange blossom honey - it gives you brew a...

    Cantina 21L shiraz/merlot kit Review

Correct. I made it up to 21 litres (and lost about a litre spillage!) and it really was very nice.

    Cantina 21L shiraz/merlot kit Review

This is the first time I've ever made wine (kit or otherwise) and I have to say that what you produce is not bad at all! Does it taste like £15 a bottle?? no. Have I tasted worst for £7-£8 a bottle?? Definitely. A very fruity wine, easy to drink, no horrible aftertaste - I'll definitely make...

    Sugar cubes for carbonation

Hi All. Does any one know how many sugar cubes you use to carbonate a 500ml bottle? I've always used carbonation drops but sugar cubes are so much cheaper. Thanks in advance.

    coopers draught larger

Hi there. Is that the Coopers Original Draught?? If so, I've made it and it was great. I used 500g of spraymalt and 500g of brewing sugar and a good dollop of honey and it turned out lovely.

Finlandia Traditional kit - sugar substitutes

Now that you mention it - I used a tin of treacle with 800g of brewing sugar to do a coopers stout a while back and although it was very good, there was definitely an overpowering treacley taste. Might just go for half a tin and some sugar. Cheers guys - will let you know how it turns out.

Finlandia Traditional kit - sugar substitutes

Hi all. I have a 1kg kit of Finlandia traditional ale but no brewing sugar or malt extract to make it with. I do however have a small jar of honey, a tin of treacle and a tin of golden syrup. I have calculated that these three combined will approximately give me the 1kg of sugar needed for...

    Finlandia Kit v Coopers

Mick I hate to be a stickler but you said the expensive ones are better - however, as I'm sure you agree the "kit beer" trade has inprove greatly since you started brewing. I understand what you mean about trying different things and recording what you like so I suppose I'm not really directing...

    Finlandia Kit v Coopers

Nice analogy Chris lol ..but you seem to be supporting my point - as we all know Levi ISNT better that George....you are simply paying for the label! Which brings me back to my original point - is Coopers just a better branded label?? Just to be clear - I am a HUGE Coopers fan - I must have...

    Finlandia Kit v Coopers

Chris. I hear what you're saying but I suppose what I'm asking is - Is a coopers brew a better brew than a Finlandia (or other cheaper - allegedly inferior brand) can or is it a simple case of better promotion and better imagery on the part of Coopers. I've made a few coopers kits with brewing...

    Finlandia Kit v Coopers

Hi All. I posted a question a few months ago if anyone had tried making a Finlandia kit and got (generally) negative responses. Most people were of the opinion that they are cheaper because they are inferior. (I mentioned in the post that I usually brewed coopers kits.) Ignoring that...

    Coopers IPA -anyone tried this?

Hi all. I just bottled batch of this - used 500g of spraymalt and 500g of brewing sugar. What's it like? I don't even know what IPA is supposed to be like - I tasted a little bit and it seems nice. What would be a commercial equivalent so that i know what to expect? Cheers.

    Homebrew Suppliers Northern Ireland

Hi Matty. Sorry I'm only replying now - posted that last item as I went out the door! I wouldn't mind meeting up for a brew - we could exchange a few although if you've gone all-grain I imagine yours is a lot better than mine! Honestly I'm not "big into brewing" - I only do it for a hobby and...

    Homebrew Suppliers Northern Ireland

Hi people. I know only a few of you will be interested in this but is there a local (N.Ireland) supplier who can compete (in terms of prices) with the online companies for beer kits etc? I know there is a supplier on the Newtonards road, belfast (nature's way) but their prices aren't very...

    Coopers IPA - brown floaters

Hi all. I started this kit about a week ago and it seems to be nearly ready to bottle...only thing is I looked into the fv and noticed there are lots of little brown floaters on the surface of the liquid. Is this normal or is the batch infected? I had a little sip and it tastes ok. Thanks in...

    Geordie Lager Kit

Does that include the finlandia ones? According to my supplier - they are great. I don't really understand the difference - surely they are all just Malt and yeast?? Or am I being really naive? Anyway thanks for the reply/replies.
