    Snow??

Quite a lot here in Yorkshire! About an inch on the roof and maybe half inch on the path and road

    Nicks90's Brewdays

I've not tasted it yet! It's my advent calendar for December, so whilst I say stocks are now at zero, I don't count that one...

[Poll added 15 November] Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul

@Druss you say that without having watched him fight. He's fought some skilled opponents including a couple of pretty good professional boxers and 2 extremely talented multi world champion UFC/MMA fighters and made it look easy. Whilst he may have made his fame and fortune as a dubious YouTube...

    Electric cars.

I would never charge directly from the solar panels anyway - not just for the reason you say - but the car is at work during the day 5 days a week! I haven't had the solar long, so no idea what excess generation I'll have in summer, but even then selling to the grid will earn me more per k/w...

[Poll added 15 November] Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul

Many will belittle what could be seen as a spectacle, but this pretty high stakes stuff. It's bringing the sport of boxing to a huge number of new people - which is a good thing if it's a good fight. If it's a poor one sided show, it will turn them all off forever. And for Jake Paul this is...

    Electric cars.

Now I have solar and a battery, but I went the other way and had the charger installed independently of the battery and solar The solar panels cope with my day time demand and charge the battery (if it's not cloudy) and my house uses the battery in the evening and overnight. OVO controls the car...

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

A little something I brought back from dublin

What are you drinking tonight 2024.

Pint of Guinness at the brazen head in dublin. And for purely scientific reasons, I had a pint of Guinness at my local near Dewsbury last night and there is literally ZERO DIFFERENCE.

    Taxi

Totally. Half the Uber drivers round me are either Schumacher wannabes with non of the ability, or have questionable driving ability/valid UK licence And for some reason they all seem to get away with cars with screaming brakes, juddering steering and horrendous bangs coming from worn...

    Electric cars.

Check what type of battery you have as lfp batteries like to be charged to 100% on a regular basis. It's only the older cobalt batteries that preferred 80% max charge. Although if you are only doing such small mileage, I'd just run it till you are down to 20% then fully recharge that night and...

Help with a Saison - ginger and orange

I did a ginger beer and it took aaaaaaages to ferment out. Bunch of fresh ginger finely diced, boiled with 0.5kg sugar and 5l water and used a cider yeast. Must have taken about 3 weeks to get to final gravity. It was nice though

    Electric cars.

In the UK Tesla are opening up the v4 chargers, because they have a longer cable, so can be used by most other EV brands without taking up 2 bays (unless you are an audi driver, in which case by default you will park side on to the charger and take up 3 bays because - you know - Audi!)

And several hotels that I use actually installed them specifically because the hotel industry sees an increase in the number of customers staying at hotels offering this service, because they can charge their car. More customers, more profit. And when you look at the energy usage of a 50+ room...

Make sure they do the cabin filter, as on re-circ the *** smoke gets stuck in the filter and if you leave the Aircon on auto it will use re-circ a lot and that might be why you are getting the smell come through

    Hydrogen Vs BEV cars.

And you think the battery tech used in a Leaf is similar to modern batteries and BMS in the current batch of EV's? [Shakes head] We are 15 years in to mainstream EV usage, look at the progress in technology and development of capabilities compared to a ford model T to an Austin 7 over a similar...

    Hydrogen Vs BEV cars.

I am all for alternative energy sources for vehicles, passenger, haulage, freight, rail, ships - but whatever we develop and use HAS to use green energy to produce. Or with the relative poor efficiency of producing and using these alternative fuels, you may as well just stick to petrol/diesel...

    Electric cars.

    1. Yes 2. Definitely getting another. I don't often do more than 200 miles a day and on the very odd occasion I do, the charger network on motorways is perfectly capable of conveniently charging as much as I need and when I need it. Based on my pretty average mileage, I like saving nearly two...

    Electric cars.

then you have company car users - i can see lease companies adding £60-60 a month on leases to cover this tax - meaning that half decent cars will now be over the threshold on monthly lease amounts for lots of users, so they will be instead forced to either have a really cheap EV with poor...
