half a campden tablet crushed and mixed into the water is all i do .you can get em from any hbs or wilkos.

thanks for that . just took a hydrometer reading and it was 1012 .its a milestone ipa and the instructions say get it down to around 1009 before bottling so i will give it another few days or so. had a taste though and it wasnt half bad.

just a quick question chaps. how clear can i get my beer before bottling and still have enough yeast for carbonation. cheers ,Chris...

thanks for the welcome. hope this one turns out alright , remember homebrew always tasting a bit chemically. will wait and see . dont think i had enough patience in my younger days probably drank straight from the fermenting bin.

hi , just got back into brewing after a break of about 20yrs. forgot how much fun it was!!! is any body else having trouble doing anything but watching it bubble away.got 40pts of milestone ipa going on thurs night and i cant keep away.
