I brewed some beer for a friendââ¬â¢s wedding in July. They were used for wedding favours for the male guests and seemed to go down very well.
I use corny kegs so could bottle from the keg eliminating any sediment (using a beer gun). Which was a good thing as most people drank straight...
I personally don't use dry yeasts anymore and grow starters instead. But it wouldn't hurt to rehydrate before pitching it. Some people do and some people don't. I would be inclined just to sprinkle it straight in :twisted:

Sounds like you've underpitched. Lager requires a lot more yeast than a normal ale (usually double the amount of cells). I would put the other packet in as soon as you can.
US-05, WY1056 and WLP001 are supposedly the same strain of yeast...Rumoured to be from Sierra Nevada.
I always use WLP001 and love it :thumb: Infact i'm brewing a EKG pale ale with it this weekend. Think i'm on my 6th gen of this yeast.
