    So this is the first brew on the new kit! Recipe is here with pictures to follow 57L brew length 10kg Maris Otter 90 min mash 60min boil 60g Centennial @ 60 mins 25g Cascade @ 10 mins. Really simple recipe and it smells great already! Pics to follow

    Yeah it's secure enough. Been using it for about 9 months now with no problems. I just used some mole grips and hand tightened the nut!

    This is what I did. Drilled all the way through then took a Stanley knife and carved out the plastic and foam! Works a treat! Be careful though!

    Single Hop Simcoe - Hop schedule advice needed

    I used this hop schedule for a 19l brew length 18g @ 60 mins, 10g @ 10mins, 10g @ 5 mins Turned out great but it needed a lot more aroma hops. I'd do 20g @ 5 mins and 20g @ 0 mins. Good hop though!

    It's in the kitchen next to the Parrot! The blackboard is a vinal chalkboard. Didn't quite get it on right as you can see so I'm gonna replace it soon! Other than that its the best thing I've ever bought!

    Has anyone used these elements with a stainless stockpot from berglands? I've installed 2 tonight and because of how thin the metal wall is you can't get a good seal with the stock orange rubber.     Decant it from the cafetierre and let it cool. Add it when your making your kit up!

    Normally we add coffee after the boil for around 4 minutes before removing, but as you don't need to boil I would suggest brewing the coffee for around 4 minutes in a cafetierre then adding about 500ml once you've got your kit made up.     Agree, get the biggest possible! You don't have to do maximum capacity brews every time but you will have the option if you wanted to!
