    Man Cements Head Into Microwave

In fairness he thought it would be off in 2 minutes

    Giveaway Inkbird products! Merry Christmas!

That thermometer looks the part but I'd take anything. I'm in, Merry Chrimbo Edit, mods or Inkbird: the first 2 links won't work for me. Could you put a space between the link and the pictures below? I think that would cure things. I found the products but had to go Googling.

    Poured with nitro?

I know someone (forget what member) adapted a 16g holder to accept 8gm bulbs. I wonder if someone with a 3d printer could make an insert that would work not just with these but with mini kegs? As I don't own a tap-a-draft or a mini keg tap (although I own some mini kegs) I'm not sure what is...

    2nd go at BIAB

If you've an Android phone, I can thoroughly recommend the Wort App. It's really simple to use and free although you can make the author a donation if you use it regular (I did) I put this together in 2 minutes on the app: 2kg Munich 10g Admiral 60 minutes 10g Admiral 15 minutes 10g Admiral 1...

    Poured with nitro?

For those that don't have a keg system, Tap-A-Draft seems about the cheapest way to get a nitro pour. They are 5L fizzy drink containers, similar to a normal cola bottle. You prime as normal and then connect the Tap-a-draft system to force pour the beer a bit like a pressure keg system. When...

    Equipment needed

Hi Jennad, something like this? https://www.geterbrewed.com/geb-budget-beer-starter-kit-for-beer-and-cider/ £16.70 Along with this: https://www.geterbrewed.com/woodfordes-wherry-bitter-3.0kg/ £18.75 If I had to do things over I'd go this route. All he needs is a few 500ml or...

10% cashback at Wilko until midnight Sun via Quidco

I use Quidco frequently but I'll only use it after I've found what I'm after. You should shop around first and find out if the kit is cheaper elsewhere. Not all cashback is tracked, I bought a phone on Black Friday from a Chinese store that never showed up. I use a separate browser for my...

    Poured with nitro?

This is the cheapest way to achieve similar for the home brewer: http://www.leylandhomebrew.com/item2158.htm You can buy 8gm Nitro Bulbs. I keep meaning to get this although I've a full keg system so I could go down that route for not much more. I love a good stout BTW.

    Prague

It is possibly over commercialised now, it has its own gift shop and prices are slightly higher than you'll find elsewhere but the black lager is outstanding. Refuse the shots they bring as they are a lot more expensive than the beer. It's also a bit tricky to find and to the outskirts of the...

    Prague

Sorry I missed this Darkbright but my reason for getting into brewing was visiting a pub in Prague called U-Fleku. I'm sure you had a wonderful time, I've been twice and I'll be back again. No matter where I went I got great beer but it was the black lager in U-Fleku that made me want to brew...

    RO system

Before you go buying any filtration system, get a water report from your local supplier. Here in Belfast the water has only 5-20ppm of impurities, Edinburgh is similar. Remember also that the composition of the "impurities" give water it's flavour. The water here tastes OK but travelling the...

    Phone.

Phone arrived today which gives you some idea of the time taken when you order from China, fortunately no customs. My son is setting it up atm, does look a great piece of kit.

    Phone.

That's where I found the deal and yes it's the Global version. My phone landed in the UK on Saturday and is being sorted. You can pay for fast delivery but from what others say, it's almost certain to be hit by customs duty. I don't mind paying the duty but they add on a processing fee. 2...

    Phone.

The phone I got (Power 2) is £50 more from a UK supplier. Then again I didn't pay import duty and if anything goes wrong it's probably an expensive brick and not worth the hassle of sending back. You take the risk but my previous phone (Elephone P8000) lasted me 2 years before that...

    Phone.

Ordered this for my Son's birthday: https://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_920789.html You'll find the spec on that phone similar to a top end (£500+) phone on the High Street You're unlikely to get hit by customs if you use the slow shipping method but even if you're hit it should still...

    Be honest...

I've corny's and mini kegs but I do like to bottle a few. I've 40 pints of AG Stout to bottle today but I put it off mainly because I couldn't be arsed  It's part of the hobby though and shouldn't be a chore, I really should love to do it.

    Be honest...

Bottling is more a PITA but I sometimes put off a brew because I know it takes so long. I've 2 kits to use I bought last year in the Tesco sale. I much prefer AG even though it takes far longer. I've never had the twang with an AG that I get in certain kits.

Want to make a lager kit taste like a German or Czech pilsner

I done the Canadian Lager and it's not too bad imo. I haven't done many kits but it's the kit that's been truest to it's purported style. For a true lager you need a lager yeast and cool brewing temperatures. Tell us how they get on though.

    Out of date kits

You almost answered your own question! Don't throw any yeast out including your kit yeast! There will still be many viable cells. Why not make up a starter with the yeast a day or 2 before your brew? If it froths up then you know it's working.
