What are you drinking tonight 2022?

Having an IPA, late bottling after dry hopping and lost all its hoppyness 😔. If you weren't expecting a hoppy beer it would be fine. Just expectation. Have to get another on.

Festival Gluten Free IPA, been in the bottle 2 weeks. Only a gluten free purchase because it was reduced! Tastes ok, but will know better after another 2 weeks I guess.

Are you an ex KenRidge kit brewer, how did you find the Vineco kit? Have to say that since they changed packaging I've only done 1 of their kits, been doing Renaissance from Spitting feathers since.

youngs difinitive white wine enhancer ?

Red wine enhancer in blackberry works well. That said adding blackberries to a 6 bottle cab sav works too. Happy brewing

youngs difinitive white wine enhancer ?

Yes just grape juice concentrate. A litre is around £10, Beaverdale 6 bottle kits are around £12. You get named wine type and yeast so cheaper than using the wine enhancer. That said if you're doing a wow with 4 litres supermarket juice, adding a little 250ml bottle to it will beef the body up...

    Whats up with my brew

When I shyphoned it over to the bottling bucket, I kept the syphon tight to the side. I think the breakup is the hop cake moving, the white stuff broke into pieces, akin to flakes of soap. Bucket now filled with 30l of hot water and 60g of sodium percarbonate. Brew bottled. Is in lidded crates...

Cheers, no vinegary smell. It's clear, has a bright taste. Racked into the bottling bucket, left a fair bit behind so 🤞. Bottled.

    Whats up with my brew

Agreed, the dry hops pellets haven't sunk which is unusual. Brewed in a bucket, as per my normal method. Just odd. And the funny pattern is opposite the air lock, which is well filled

It was the kit yeast. 1052 down to 1006 so 6% which is on target.

    Whats up with my brew

Am after some advice please. Am about to bottle a Festival Gluten Free IPA. Started 8/2 dry hopped 18/2 but life has got in the way. On the floating hops there is this white plate like material. Any suggestions as to what it is, should I bottle it? Tastes OK, have it in the bottling bucket...

    Hop plants/rhizomes - growing report

How to grow hops depends on variety, some are better suited to traditional tall hop gardens (target, fuggles), some like cascade are not as tall and suited to hedge growing. Two pictures from Musée de la fraise, Wepion, Namur, Belgium. Suspended at the top of the pole is a ring attached to...

    Bottle capping.

Agreed. If you use a variety of bottle types / heights it can be a pain. Wish my bench mounted capper was like my wine bottles Corker - spring loaded base.
