    Gamma Ray Original

Just bought the ingredients, couldn't find Bravo hops so upped the Columbus in its place. Same with Calypso so ordered Cascade instead. I know it's now not going to be bang on the recipe but hopefully it's somewhat similar :-? I also upped the dry hopping hops by 5g each - 15g in total...

    Gamma Ray Original

What hops would you increase and by how much? Going to put together an order tonight somewhere. (suggestions welcome!)

    Gamma Ray Original

Is this the best recipe to go with for Gamma Ray or does anyone that has brewed this got any tweaks? Cheers

    Upgrade from picnic tap?

Hi all, I'm currently using a picnic tap to dispense beer from the corny keg to the glass however I'm looking to upgrade. Looking for a hand held gun or similar. This will be for pouring into glasses rather than to bottle with. Rather not go down the fixed tap route just yet. Thanks

    Corny & bottles conditioning temperature

Hi all, I'm just about to fill a corny keg and a handful of bottles from the fermentation vat. I have a brew fridge I can control, what's the ideal temperature to condition the keg and bottles at? Should I do them separately? I'll be using co2 with keg and priming sugar with bottles. Cheers

    APA temperature and racking

Excellent, cheers. I'll leave as is then.

    APA temperature and racking

Evening all, I'm brewing a grain kit from geterbrewed, an APA that calls for fermentation to be at 19c. The instructions are pretty simple, should I be raising the temperature slightly towards the end of fermentation? Also, should I be racking to secondary bucket? I usually just leave in...

    How much Malt Extract?

My fermentables are 5.8kg of pale malt and 145g crystal malt. I have 22l in the bin. The calculator is saying I should be starting at 1.066 so should I just add virtual malt extract to bring it up by 0.010? If so it's saying .7kg.

    How much Malt Extract?

Bit confused with how to work backwards with the calculator - am I right in saying i'd need ~0.5kg to bring it up 0.010 given the above info?

    How much Malt Extract?

Cheers for that link. I was planning to dissolve it in water before I added it, I've never used it before though - is it a nightmare to dissolve?

    How much Malt Extract?

Hi all, I have 22 litres of an english IPA in the fermentation bin after 2 days. The OG was however 1.050 instead of 1.060, i'm thinking this was because I added too much water during the boil stage. I've ordered some dried malt extract to hopefully bring it up to 1.060, how many grams roughly...

    Saison Final Gravity Dilemma

Thanks for the swift replies, i've given it a swirl. Something else... I've been called away for work last minute which involves being away from home for 3 weeks, I'll be leaving on Tuesday; should I leave this in the fermenter, meaning that it'll be in there for around 4.5 weeks or should I...

    Saison Final Gravity Dilemma

Hi all, I'm brewing a saison (p127 of Greg Hughes book), it's been fermenting since Sunday however for the last day or so there's been no activity in the airlock. It started of at 1.048 and is now at 1.018 - the book says the FG should be 1.010. Should I give the tub a stir about? I...

    Fermentation Volume

As long as I have enough to fill a corny keg that's fine. Thanks for the help booze brothers.

    Fermentation Volume

Ahhh, ok. I was under the assumption that the 23 litres stated in the book would be what i was to be kegging.

    Fermentation Volume

Hi all, Going to brew Greg Hughes' Saison from his book, I have a question about volumes. I'm looking to finish with 23l as his recipe states. How much should I be looking to finish the boil with to put into the fermenter in order to account for loss to the trub etc?
