    The Coronavirus thread.

You too Chippy, I'm busy turning my little back yard into a spring time pub. The missus can be the 'door person' no-one else is getting in LOL She's cheaper to feed than a rottie but harder to train :laugh8:

    The Coronavirus thread.

I understand Nige, but at the moment in Lombardy, Italy, bodies are being shoved into churches as morgues can't cope. Lombardy is an affluent, medically better area than Britain. If I'm skint and it saves someones life, then mission accomplished.

    The Coronavirus thread.

Well said Chippy, well said. I reckon we'd get on like a house on fire. Incidentally Chip, Barrow Furness hospital has now stopped visitation rights. Couple cases confirmed from BAE, so that will mean x100 minimum to come obscure, i've read so much guff in my life i just try to forget...

Yes Myqul Brits will never follow guidelines to a big enough level for it to matter.

On a plus note, I've a shed full of home brew, a dart board, a nice music collection and a billion books. Bring on the enforced quarantine I say, lets help the NHS save OAP lives.

    The Coronavirus thread.

I zig zagged my way (to stay away from people) to three different shops today, just to buy bread, milk, eggs and tea. Payed by card. no contact. I still had people queuing less than a foot from me, people coughing unprotected all around me, it was madness. Hairdressers open, Wetherspoons as I...

    The Coronavirus thread.

I can kind of understand women stockpiling bog roll, I use a roll a week, the missus a roll a day lol. What I can't understand is some of the panic buying I've seen blokes do. I actually saw a bloke buy, not 1, nor 2, nor 3, but 4 cases of Carling in Tesco. That, my muckers, is proper senseless...

    The Coronavirus thread.

I just spoke to a nurse on the NHS 111 line. If after 7 days the fever and cough has gone, carry on with your normal life. If after 7 days the fever has gone, but cough remains, carry on with normal life. If in the following 7 days, the fever remains & severe lethargy and/or respiratory problems...

    Tom Caxton Real Ale

I did this 2nd November and just tried a pint. That's a lot longer than normal for me to wait, but I'd made it, bottled it, carbed it then bunged it in the shed, literally forgot all about it. Ok, so notes I made. In FV for 18 days at 19/20C. Notty yeast, pitched at 20C. The full packet of...

    Easy Keg 5L

the taps are ok. it just needs a ventable bung on top and you will be good to go.

    Easy Keg 5L

Not sure mate. As long as the bung on top you have is able to vent, you are able to remove and clean and replace, then you will be good.

    Gamers.

I had a wooden atari too, missile command, space invaders, adventure, etc etc. Nothing after that until last year missus bought me a ps4 and a few games and asked family to buy me a game for chrimbo. I'm clueless with it, I may as well be sat in front of a NASA control station on launch day.

    Brew No.3

I did one of these with 1.5KG of brew enhancer and to 21L. According to my little brain (the brewing notebook) it improved massively after 6 weeks in the barrel. Little note I made at bottom of page, says 'do it again' I never did, but certainly hope to.

    Flat Earth.

I know someone who is a 'flat-earther' He also thinks gravity is man made. Satellites don't exist. Pyramids are summat to do with alien spaceships. etc etc etc These fruitcakes seem to believe every theory/conspiracy that's possible to believe. You'd never meet a flat-earther who believed we...

22 Gbp for a pint? Really? Clone anyone?

I resent going down south and paying £4 plus, for a pint in a boozer. I'll stick to the local traditional pubs, which sell some traditional beers from localish breweries for £3. I ain't tightfisted, but really, anything over a fiver for a beer is just lunacy. That's just me though, if people...

    A tragic tale!

If someone looked at my bird, I'd be chuffed. I'd wonder where he'd lost his guide dog, but I'd be chuffed.

    Pickled Egg.

Pickled egg, cheese and salad cream sarnie. At least once a fortnight :) Pickling spice, peppercorns, couple of dried chillis, sea salt and vinegar. I make 'em all the time as the missus refuses to LOL

    B&M kits

I have minimal knowledge, but experience of trying stuff to see what happens. I've dry hopped three or so bitter kits. Once I added 50g and that was too much, it threw the malt and bittering levels off kilter for me, it no longer resembled a bitter at all but a cross between a pale ale and a...
