    Weather too hot to brew?

That sounds interesting, let us know how it comes out. Wouldn't have thought mixing Bitter and Lager together. Haven't tried the Real Ale kit yet and to be honest all the Coopers kits, apart from the gorgeous Stout, do tend to taste quite bitter to me.Only my opinion though. May give the Real...

    Re: Wilko's Delicate Pilsner

Can you give us some more recipe details, especially the temperature you fermented at. Did you use any heat or just left to ferment on its own. This sounds very interesting.

    Weather too hot to brew?

Hmmm, might try the box, I've got a couple of spare aquarium heaters. I brewed a Coopers English Bitter but used the Wilkos Gervin Yeast, it definitely was an improvement on taste. Not so bitter and harsh.

    Best kits for a base

Your right about the Coopers bitter being bitter, but I just found a bottle in the back of my brew cupboard dated February of this year and was very surprised to find it quite smooth. Can't see how I missed it, my beers don't normally last that long!

    Weather too hot to brew?

Hi Chaps, This weather is playing havoc with my temperature control. In my garage it varies between 20/26c, more in the higher range than the lower (although just looked a minute ago and it was 18c) Any advice what I can brew in this temperature range? I haven't got a brew fridge, just a heated...

Rule of thumb for using belt heaters?

I built my brew box using 60mm insulation sheet, STC 1000 (ebay) and a 60w tube heater (toolstation) Have only used it in the winter though but it kept all my brews at 18/19c. Really happy with this setup and plan to make another one. :-P

    Bottle Sterilizing

If I have been given any glass bottles by anyone, I first rinse them out in hot water and then soak them to get the labels off. I then just stick them all in a spare FV with a strong bleach solution, I use about two cups, make sure you get bleach with no smell to it, and leave them overnight...

    newbie wherry ale jitters... again

I bought 4 freezer packs (wraps) from Tesco, £1.85 each, they look like a bigger version of the ice cube bags. Stick 'em in the freezer to freeze and then I wrap them around my pressure barrel securing them with bungee straps. I then cover it with an old bed sheet and keep wetting it with cold...
