    Corny keg gas issues

I have just got two corny kegs and my first experience was appalling with loads of foam and pretty much a waste of the whole 10l keg. I almost gave up but it was a lot of capital expenditure so I persevered. I read a lot and asked some questions on here and moved to 10 foot of 3/16 line with a...

    Out of date Cider kit

If you’re adding it at the end end do it to taste. When I made cider I added the equivalent of half a teaspoon per bottle to start with & ended ended up with about 3/4 of a teaspoon per 500 mL. I like drinks dry but my cider definitely needed sweetening with artificial sweetener - at the end -...

    Stainless Steel kegs

I have 10 litre corny kegs which fit in the fridge fairly easily - with a soda stream gas canister also makes it fairly portable.

    Hi and Thanks

Welcome to the forum - no question too small or silly in the quest for great beer. Just as well you have lots of decent kits because practice makes perfect.

All Grain v Extract what would I gain?

I moved over to all grain about a year ago. I don’t have lots of expensive kit. Pros my beer is much more predictable and lighter and cheaper and better cons it takes longer. You literally pay your money and take your choice.

    Conical fermenter

There are practical reasons to have a conical fermenter. I use it to remove the trub and thereby no longer have to rack into a secondary fermenter. This reduces the likelihood of oxidisation.

    Culturing bakers yeast.

You can make a starter with bakers yeast in much the same way as you make it with beer. You can also keep that starter in the fridge although it will become dormant. You can also use your yeast from your beer when it is till live and bubbling to make bread - sp it doesnt have to be sourdough or...

    New CML yeasts

I have just used the WHC liquid Ubbe Kveik for a pale ale/lager type beer. It went off like a train in 2 hours at 26 degrees and was finished in 2 days. 10 days from start it is completely clear. I have just kegged.Tasted a sample and it was totally clean and very pleasant no off flavours and...

Will dry hopping be worth it for me?

I listened to a podcast recently that said - based on a recent scientific study that anything over 120g of dry hopping would have very diminishing returns

    Beginner Kit

It would be likely to be just as cheap to buy your own kit. I definitely wouldn’t try and do your own recipe. You want to end up with something you like and that is successful. So work with someone else’s expertise either through a quality kit or a tested all grain recipe with decent yeast...
