    Halloween.

Sounds like a better trade. Our local trick or treaters just want money. It's like a night of organised protection racketeering. Few years back I just answered the door wearing a boiler suit covered in what appeared to be blood. Told them I was 'busy' the didn't knock again.

The website says 1.8 kg. Any idea what size capping end is on there? Take it you had no issues capping regular brown beer bottles. Bar the few odd sized ones you get.

    Plum wine irregularities

I've not racked this yet. But the SWMBO has put the heating on and all the gunk and the bottom has now floated to the top. I had added kwik clear about 3 weeks ago. Hence why I had a cheeky taste the other night to see if it was ready to bottle. I syphoned carefully from the top. But now with...

    My 4 year guezue project

I admire your patience and tenacity. Longest I've left a bottle of home brew wine is 2 years. Although I do have some potato beer still in the shed that's years old. But it was horrible then and I can't bring myself to open it still. My wife love's sour beers. Especially cherry or any berry...

Removing burnt on grain from mashtun

Ive used food grade citric acid in granular form. With a small amount of water to make a paste. Mildly abrasive and still does the job without scratching it too much. Sea salt will also work. But citric acid is better. Smear the paste on and come back to it after a while. The granulated stuff...

    Hydrometer??

I've been looking at the precision ones. Thanks for the link. Although I normally use a refractometer just for ease. Only requires a single drop for a sample. But when you get close to the end it can be a pain trying to read it.

    Wine making

The sediment will usually compact at the bottom of the bottle. Just be careful not to disturb it to much. Leave it out in the cold is no problem at all. In fact will help the sediment sink to the bottom. Maybe re bottle the sedimented ones into the empties once you start to dive in.
