Coopers Lager - First Taste Test.

Been bottled for 3 months now. Smell – Yes, smells like lager. Colour and Clarity - Very pale not like lager, slightly bronzed water colour. Crystal clear. Taste - Has that typical home brew flavour which is sharp, dry, thin and has a distinctive unpleasant dry, tang flavour that I just...

    Coopers Kits, Contradictions.

Yes you will, not to a massive extent. But they are wrong. Make upto about 18.5 Ltrs next time and you will have the beer near perfect and at the correct measure/gravity (Replace the yeast of course)! :)

    Coopers Kits, Contradictions.

Sean, with respect, you have not understood my post. If you get time read it again. :thumb: A US Pint = 0.473 litres. 40 US Pints = 18.92 Ltrs. We all know that 40 Uk Pints = 23 Ltrs, but they have not used UK pints (They used US Pints).

    Coopers Kits, Contradictions.

Morley, Coopers have used the US Pint to advertise their product "Makes 40 Pints". Now what they have done, god knows how is to confuse the US Pint with the UK Pint and assumed it was 23ltrs, like we all would. This is wrong. In reality, it should read "Makes 40 US Pints this equates around...

    Coopers Kits, Contradictions.

I have found two major contradictions regarding the kits. 1/ Cans - "Makes 40 Pints" - that is 18.93 Litres. 2/ Directions state Fill the fermenter with cold tap water to the 23 litre mark and mix. - that’s over 48 pints. :hmm: If you have made one of these kits in the past and wondered...

Just a few questions for you experts. 1/ I have just received a copy of 'How To Brew Beers Like Those You Buy'. Dave Line explains that it is fine to use a Bruheat to mash before the boil. What is the best method of using a sparging bag during the mash in a bruheat and preventing it touching...

    Storing Hops?

Hi Fella's, What is the best method and place to store un-used Hops? How long can they be stored for berfore the need for chucking? The reason I ask is that I have got 1kg of Saaz sitting in the cupboard. Could it go into the freezer without affecting the quality? Regards Pete ;)
