    Kevik Yeast

Have you looked at this thread? (I haven’t read it all to be honest but seems along right lines) https://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/threads/kveik.75453/

    IPA go suck it

There is a place for a heavily hopped IPA, just like there is a place for any other beer style (traditional or not). It’ll go round to something else, beers like Porters are now making a come back and it’ll go onto something else when the faddyness has worn off. Although I do agree with your...

    X - offenders.

The tax break idea might not be the right carrot for the companies to hire anyone.... however I wasn’t saying criminals should be left in the spiral. I was merely saying that they shouldn’t be at the top of the pecking order above law abiding jobless, homeless or those in need but still be...

    X - offenders.

Yes long term unemployed is a generalisation but it is not two separate issues. Neither does it need to not be simple. There always needs to be allowances for carers, disabilities, learning difficulties etc but I did not say they should be made to work. That is a different discussion. What I...

    X - offenders.

I have just read this news report and could not believe it myself. They interviewed someone saying how “desperate he is to turn his life around”. The tax break should be for employing long term unemployed.

    Exploding cans

I now know that! The seam around the top is a definite weak point, it’s where the ones in the cupboard blew. It looked like I had used a tin opener.

    Exploding cans

It’s as good a response you can expect. I wonder if this is happening because not enough is known about the limits of conditioning beer in a can? They can’t be as in control as if they bottled themselves as a lot of smaller breweries don’t have their own canning line.

    Exploding cans

I’m not entirely sure flavourly will care to be honest, I’ve gone to Twitter about it too so I’ll see what they both say then. Ive never seen anything like it, reminded me of a video someone posted on here a while back of a batch of wine that was infected and they knocked the pin out on the video.

    Exploding cans

They’re “can-conditioned” and do contain yeast. I’m just surprised at both companies involved to be honest; didn’t think it would happen! I’ve emailed both and will be posting any replies I get.

    Exploding cans

Hi Everyone, I placed a can of Electric Bear - Inspector Remorse in the fridge last night to chill for this evening. On opening, the can exploded in my hand, hit the ceiling and made a hideous mess. I went to the cupboard to find another had exploded in there and the third required a safe...

Will you be watching the royal wedding?

I choose “meh” from the list. Not bothered, don’t understand the fuss but if others want to watch it I’m not bothered about that either. We will always have a royal family will they keep reproducing; would be nice to not waste all that money on them though......

    Brewferm bottle conditioning

It is preferable to keep them at a stable temperature... but not always possible. The brewferm kits benefit from a long, long conditioning time so it’s alot harder to keep them stable for months. My advice would be to keep it stable for initial conditioning but after that store them in the back...

    Hops in tins

I think the tins are a good idea if (like me) you are struggling for fridge and freezer space due to young family taking over everything...... anyway don’t know whether you could do a scheme where repeat orders have the option to choose ‘re-use previous tin’ or something along those lines so...

    Brewing Beer with Coffee.

I’m saving this for future reference.... good article thanks.

    Packaging dilemma

The above posts about the polys are right; they’re not exactly intended for carbonated beers and more for the real ale. They can be used to condition in though and the beer will keep fine once conditioned in them as long as it’s not intended to be used for laying the beer down. It just starts...

    Packaging dilemma

Why the time before carbonating? I would carbonate it and just drink the mini first to give the poly chance to settle once you’re there. It’ll have proper conditioning time then too.

    Glucosamine and Chondroitin

I’m 28 and I’m taking it due to double knee op and not a lot of cartilage left. The ache and pain hasn’t been affected but it does feel much freer moving.

    Help! Plasticy smell and taste.

How long you leaving it to condition? Some people taste the kit ‘twang’ more then others and I’m one of the unfortunate ones that has to leave the beer quite a while after before it goes. I describe that as a plasticy taste.

What would a good press look like/cost? What sort of garden shredder did you use?
