    brexit still on?

I did. The fine was against the lib dems. Who are not the remain campaign. But as I said, I am not interested in a slanging match about which "side" cheated more. If either side cheated then it invalidates the result. Again, we are supposed to be a bloody democracy.

    brexit still on?

I'm not sure what else they could have based it on. And I think that would be the fairest three options.

    brexit still on?

Having another vote is easy. Ensuring this one remains above board is more complex. But that doesn't mean it's impossible. For me it's more about the principle of the thing. If we allow a vote to stand when we know full well that illegal activity occurred, then how long until that becomes...

    brexit still on?

What of it? The remain campaign hasn't been accused of any wrong doing. What you link to is a list of groups with the same aim. But more importantly, this isn't a competition, and cheating doesn't cancel out cheating. If both sides cheated, that's more reason to call a revote, not less...

    brexit still on?

Initially, I was of the same opinion. "Stop whining. I dont like it either, but we lost. That's democracy." But the more I learn about this, the more apparent it becomes that this was not a free and fair referendum. I simply don't see how we can allow this to stand. We're supposed to be a...

    brexit still on?

An interesting read, written by the MEP for the South West, on the apparently illegal tactics employed by the Vote Leave campaign in the run up to the referendum. What I did not previously know is that prima facie evidence of illegal activity has already been established...

    brexit still on?

Leave voters have definitely been shafted. They lied to you the whole way through, you're not going to get anything close to what you were promised, and now we're all buggered. Now we have two options: call a revote, which I actually don't think would be unreasonable, given the number of...

    Masterchef signature dish...

I dunno, that sounds right up John Torrode's street.

    2+2+2 ?

Be aware that it is a rule of thumb, though. Beer is very unlikely to be ready to drink with less than 2 weeks conditioning, but it may well take longer. Give it 2 weeks and then try a bottle, don't bother before then. Another rule of thumb: the darker a beer is, the longer it will take to...

    Fermentation fridge size

This is a good shout. Apparently drilling in any way that exposes the insulation is a bad idea, as the second any damp gets into the stuff it becomes a haven for bacteria and you just can't clean it. I'm told that it absolutely stinks.

Took me years to work that out.

Pubs facing triple tax whammy, says Camra

I don't think that's a problem. As one of the generation we are apparently now calling millennials, I can say from firsthand experience that silly things done while drunk are generally a source of humour and perverse pride, rather than shame. Although that might have just been my mates...

Pubs facing triple tax whammy, says Camra

Point one is oft repeated, but it is a myth. The profit to the government from tax on tobacco was two to three times what smokers were costing the NHS prior to the smoking ban. And please note that's just medical care for smokers, variously estimated between 3 and 6 billion a year; as far as I...

    WILKO STOUT TWEAK?

454g each, but yeah I would guess a medium LME? Edit: I think I may have misunderstood your question, my apologies!

    Guilty for telling a joke

At no point have I, or indeed anyone else on here, suggested that he is a Nazi. I think he's a very childish man who finds shock humour amusing. His intent is not necessarily relevant when determining whether or not this constitutes hate speech. UK law states: "A person who uses threatening...

    Guilty for telling a joke

Sorry; strange millennial internet phrase. I've mentioned the recent phenomenon of interpreting free speech to mean speech with no limits whatsoever; this view is generally differentiated from actual free speech (and, if I'm honest, mocked) by calling it freeze peach.

    Guilty for telling a joke

Oh, come on. What evidence is there to show that was his intention? It looks to me like the "joke" was making a dog do something most people would find offensive. Occam's razor, and all that.

    Guilty for telling a joke

Actually, it is traditionally what has been understood as free speech. As has already been pointed out, free speech "comes down to uncensored media and the freedom to challenge and petition government". This ludicrously simplified interpretation that says anyone gets to say anything, anywhere...

    Guilty for telling a joke

I'm not the one misunderstanding free speech. Over the past couple of years certain people seem to have developed the strange notion that freedom of speech means that you get to say whatever you like from whatever platform entirely free from consequences of any kind. Oddly enough, you only ever...

    Guilty for telling a joke

Uhuh. If he'd been doing this in a public place you'd be horrified. A guy on a highstreet yelling "gas the jews" while his dog does Nazi salutes? Everyone would be up in arms. But somehow videoing yourself doing it and posting it on a public forum is completely different. Except of course it...
