    Fermentation got cold oops!

I have been fermenting a RIS for 2 weeks. For the first week the fermenter was kept at a stable 19deg. After that unfortunately the heat pad got unplugged and it’s been at around 8-10deg in the garage (I’m guessing). It’s been like that since last Saturday. I have just realised the problem and...

    Hopandgrape & Brupaks experience

Basically they are saying: 1: there is no Europe outlet so you must buy from UK 2: you can buy direct from them 3: tell them exactly what yo want and they’ll tell you how much to pay including delivery etc

    Black IPA recipe

Not sure if you lose any colour (as I’ve never done a direct comparison) but my beer seems to come out as dark as it’s supoosed to. See my avatar pic for an example of a RIS I brewed using the late addition. Flavour always seems good as well and deffo not as bitter as if mashed from the start!

    Black IPA recipe

When did you add the chocolate malt to the mash? I like to add dark grains for the last 5-10 mins of the mash only, this gives colour and flavour while limiting burned/roasted taste

    St Peters ‘without’????

I’m sure you’re correct in a lot of cases. St. Peter’s brews theirs differently though. I was on a tour last summer and the guide told us it was to do with attenuation and other factors (no de-acoholising)

Best yeast choice for a stout?

+1 for cml is pale yeast. Recently did a RIS with 2 packs for a 20litre batch. It coped manfully with the 10.5% brew!

    BF CML yeast specs??

Just inputting some recipes onto brewers friend but CML yeast is not one of the options in the drop down menu. Is there a substitute that’s close enough to use for CML US pale ale yeast??
