    TBH I don’t brew kits now just all grain (I do use muntons malt though and live about 5 miles from their factory, lol) When i started out I brewed woodfords wherry kit and really liked it!

    Who do you believe, hydrometer or refractometer?

    Afaik refractometers (sp) don’t really work after the yeast is added? I’m no expert so prepared to be corrected! I always use hydrometer for SG anytime post pitch

    The only way to make it economically viable is to be a bit organised.... It pays to plan the next few brews and order the ingredients together to max out the delivery weight limit!

    Not sure if I’m working his out right, but I found an online calculator.... It reckons that 228g of sugar in .5L water would give a SG of 1.173 Is this about right?

    Anyone know of a fairly reliable way of estimating the SG of a priming solution of water and corn sugar (dextrose)? I’ve tried measuring the SG with a hydrometer but it’s too high (off the scale)
