    Pass the bleach..........quickly.

Funny how you raise this subject, my beer stash is in the garage and I couldn't be a***d to get some out, so dug some Carlsberg from the back of the fridge. I should have gone to the garage...

Egg smells - is the batch ruined or just done wrong?

What stage is the batch currently at? It'll help people evaluate the situation. For example, if the eggy smell is coming from the FV then I wouldn't worry. However, if its been conditioning for a number of weeks and it isn't getting better, then chances are its not going to.

AG#1 Blonde Ale from THBC (pic heavy)

Does it not matter that I have break material in the FV then? I was worrying the most about that to be fair, but glad it wasn't a mistake!

AG#1 Blonde Ale from THBC (pic heavy)

I decided yesterday would be a good day to get my first ever all grain on. The overall day was a success I think, I made a few mistakes which hopefully I will learn from! One of them was forgetting the Whirlfloc tablet and the second was cooling the wort in the primary fermenter, I panicked as I...

    brewing getting popular!!

I work near Mansfield and pass through Ollerton regularly when I go away so ill remember to pop in. I find the one at the bottom of rock hill too expensive to be fair.

    Woodfordes Wherry Review

If the Wherry has only had a few days in the bottle I wouldn't expect much at all. It requires at least 4 weeks to be near drinkable. I've also had issues with the carb drops in 500ml bottles. I bottles a John Bull Best Bitter on New Year's Day and its only now showing the signs of carbonation...

    Youtube Links

I really enjoyed the Guiness video, I've been round the brewery in Dublin but you only see the old building and not the actual working brewery so it was really good to see. Will be working my way through the other vids in times.

    First ever Brew day!!

2 can kits don't require the addition of a ferment able such as sugar. Just pop the two cans in, add water and yeast, easy! The two can kits also end to be at the premium end of the kit scale.

    New to all this,

Be careful, you may just get addicted to brewing!

    Nice beer

The Rum Cask one is even nicer! ;)

    made an error.

It'll be fine, the ferment has more than likely done now, but can be confirmed with the hydrometer.

    Sterilising

+5 for thin bleach, as long as you rinse well there are no issues! :thumb:

    Six Nations

The thing is, Lawes is only nearly 24. For a second row that is very young and he still has some maturing to do in the role. He is an absolute unit and has played very well for his club. Give him a couple of years for the World Cup and see what level he is at then, I see a potential great player...

    "SMaSH that Stuff Up"

Good pics and congrats on the first AG! With the OG coming out that high, did you not consider adding more water at the end to bring it down whilst replacing the loss? Not saying you did wrong, just curious. :thumb:

    Mexican cerveza round two

Ferment between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius, don't worry if its under that it will just take longer. I'd avoid going above that as you run the risk of creating off tastes and fusel alcohol which develops at higher temps. Read calumscott's thread in the how to section for kits, follow that and you...
