    Freezing hops?

Definitely two main schools of thought here. I think i need to "sniff test" my open packs, and then find room for any opened packs that are still good and freeze those. Definitely not got the room for all unopened packs. A vac pack doodat might be a good investment for me tho. Sent from my...

    Too much dry hops?

I've got the kit too, i plugged all the info into brewers friend to try and get the ibus etc from the data and hop qtys they give on the sheet inc 75 min mash too as directed. Still overshooting ibus a bit even with these timings. This is what i ended up with. Water qtys may be a tiny bit off as...

    Too much dry hops?

I've literally just found out that the XXL ones of these don't fit in through the wide neck screw top type fermenters. [emoji53] Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Too much dry hops?

I'm dry hopping an Elvis Juice clone tomorrow, going to give these a bash. Hopefully be easier than the bags I was using. I do need to tweak the lids tho, as they aren't as tight as I'd have liked. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

I best start throwing all the food away then! [emoji23] Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Freezing hops?

Hmm. I have over 2kg of hops "in stock" about 1.6kg of those are still unopened vac packs. I always try and seal opened bags back up as best I can, probably more important to get those ones in the freezer. The rest will probably need to go at least in the garage where it's cooler. It's...

    Freezing hops?

OK so I've been brewing a while, and never (somehow) come across freezing hops until now. Does everyone freeze their hops? I have shed loads and no way it's all fitting in the freezer [emoji58] I figured if they were unopened vac sealed bags they were fine. Dunno what to do with them all now...

    Father and Daughter brew day

I got bough one of the Punk kits. Was thinking to do the same and use the Wyeast 1056 as recipe says. Definitely will now. Also noted that the 20L 5am Saint and Jack hammer kits are £5 off at the mo at brewuk.co.uk at £30. 👍 Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Citra Saison - BBNo 01|01 - ideas?

Ah right didn't realise about the temp increase, I'll have to do some reading on that i think. ;-) Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Bridger's BrewDays

The Brewers best stuff came off eBay, not cheap as came from USA! The cold pressed stuff which looks to be more concentrated came from the malt miller. 👍 https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=1621 Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Bridger's BrewDays

Once the beer is fermented and dry hopped, I'll be adding grapefruit "stuff" when bottling. I'm not 100% sure which, or maybe some of both, of these, I'll have to add and then taste to see if it's enough. I did add a couple of drops of the brewers best stuff to another homebrew and it was...

    Bridger's BrewDays

Thought I'd chuck a short post up for the brew i did yesterday and subsequent brews will go here too. 🤓 So yesterday i used my new Buffalo 40L boiler (had to move the thermostat in the end as it wouldn't maintain a rolling boil, but it's all good now) and boy, it's so much easier than...

    Citra Saison - BBNo 01|01 - ideas?

Really fancy brewing a Citra Saison like BBNo 01| 01 for the summer, but I've never done a Saison before. Any thoughts / recipe / pitfalls ? Not really sure where to start. It says there is malted rye in it, but past that I'm heading into uncharted territory 😃 Also says 'light spicing'...

    New FV reccomendations

I've been using the 2 handle screw top fermenters from the beginning of my brewing. Been great, only couple of times have i needed Vaseline. Had to grab another from Wilko not long ago, emergency brew day. Lol, they have changed them there to the ones pictured. Not exactly cheap at £18 but...

    Ball valve tap leak

I've just this morning fitted a tap to a big pan, use one single Kevlar washer on the outside between tap and vessel, then washer / nut on inside. No PTFE at all. Not even a single drop on the outside. 👍 Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    how many times

A while back, I made a bit of a stab in the dark brew using a pile of mixed up used 'dry hops' from a previous brew: 12.5g Simcoe 25g Cascade 12.5g Ahtanum 6g Nelson 20g Centennial 12g Amarillo I split it into 3 equal lots, and chucked in the wort at 60, 30 and 15, and then also dry hopped...
