Covid the *** and the final stage.

Well, lovely wife & I had our second Moderna yesterday. With the exception of chills, sore arm, and noticable fatigue, we're not experience side effects. Of course, all those technicolor bunny rabbits hopping around on the bed, the miniature pink elephants trying to sell me insurance at the...

    Happy Easter lovely people!

Easter here was great. Started here with the strongest attendance in worship since I was called to serve here a year ago. Brunch out with my beloved wife. Afternoon was spent on video-calls with our two sons (29 & 27) who live 2k miles away & eating way to much chocolate bunny. This week...

    Desktop, Phone or Tablet. [POLL]

The phone gets used for time-wasting. I don't even like repainting to emails with it. I use the laptop for writing, serious browsing (in-depth product & data research). My dual-screen gaming system isn't set up for the moment 'cuz we're living in 600sqft with two professional home offices.

Covid the *** and the final stage.

Wife and I had our first (Moderna) 3wks ago. Second in 8 days. Just sight area tightness for the first one. Prayerfully, any symptoms for #2 will wait 2 days to set in. My constitution is that of a rock, but my wife not so. (Although she deals with tough illness well)

    Census 2021

I'm pretty sure ours does too... But the US census would include US citizens living outside the country. I wouldn't actually expect my wife to get one dinner she now holds 'dual' citizen status. COVID *really* screwed up our census last year. Considering state/federal funding & the...

    Census 2021

I was joshin'. As a side-note, the US includes those citizens who are expatriated.

I'm disappointed. 😟 My wife hasn't gotten a mailing yet. (Do they mail outside the UK?)

    50 years of CAMRA

I've mentioned i got into home being when the missus gifted a bitters-kit to me. That gift included a CAMRA book. Used it several times early on, but measurement conversions were a bear, so.... Being on the wrong side off the pond, never got to any festivals. asad1

    Washing bottles in bath

I too just rinse out my bottles immediatly after pouring them. They're always stored in boxes with lids, so they stay clean. Then i submerse them in no-rinse san (upright in a brew-bucket) immediately before refilling them. Doing it that way for 10 yrs. Never a problem.

    Does Kit Fermenting Smell?

My lovely often makes comments like, "That oughta be good when it's finished", & "that's a nice room freshener." But if your don't get the same reaction, just hang a week of unwashed boot-socks nearby & take the blame off the fermenter.:laugh8:

The Quest for the Perfect Bitter

The Quest for the Perfect Bitter

Thanks, I'll put this reference with the passport. Now all we gotta do is have that unknown uncle die so we can inherit the airfare. ;)

The Quest for the Perfect Bitter

Funny! I began homebrewing when my British wife gave me an 'English Bitter' kit as a gift 12yrs ago). We got married 37yrs ago & used to travel to England every 4 years or so. I enjoyed the traditional local pub (especially the bitter) and pined at the end of the holiday when we came home to...

    What did you do today?

Made a rescue trip, taking my wife the second car when hers died in her commute ta work. (Drive the sick vehicle home & started shopping for its successor.) Prepared for and attended church council meeting w/o expected contention. Quiet evening then went to bed early (2200ish). Almost an...

Well, I thought about making this disclosure, but didn't want to scare off the 'new guy' or offending anyone already here with 'the truth'.

where am I and what's happening

Hey, @barleytown,. I too joined here after brewing for years. I relocated into an area with a different climate and water quality and found these folks have been helpful and friendly. There's a lot of knowledge here.

Anybody use a water filter rather than bottled water?

I'm curious what you and @BeerCat are speaking of when ya'll speak of "reverse osmosis" filters. 20 years ago, we had a whole house Culligan water softener that used RO that was huge (3'x2'x4'). Yet, what i see advertised now as whole house RO has 3 12-18" filters that takes up <3'x18" space...

    New Forum member map. (3-1-2021)

Thank you, Chippy_Tea. Last time i looked there wasn't any non-UK/Northern France on the map. The previous map didn't have the "UK" in the title & I just figured you'd given up tracking the colonials. 😉. Thanks.
