Anyone spotted any black Friday Home Brew deals

That’s a great deal. I got the same kit in the same promotion last year.

    Infected?

Also sounds good to me. Indeed leave it for a fortnight before checking the SG.

    Broadband FTTC, FTTP, Gfast etc.

I am with Virgin too. They will walk the price up in time and you’ll likely persuade yourself that you need those blistering speeds so unlikely to switch.

    Broadband FTTC, FTTP, Gfast etc.

I am spoilt getting circa 400Mbs to the door. Sure beats 1999 AOL penny a minute dial-up at a blistering 28Kps

Is two bottles of wine night every other day too much?

Do what works for you. I cut down by abstaining during Mon to Wed, having a cpl on a Thurs or not at all. Drink what I want Fri and Sat then just a couple on Sunday to ease back into decaf tea and water of an evening. It works for me. As others have remarked, when you do drink, the...

    Cheap Inkbird on Amazon

Just spied the same and was going to flag it here! I have the wi-fi version as well as the standard one. Great bit of kit.

    Hop spider or not?

I also have a GF G30 and bought a hopspider just after I bought the GF. Think I used the hopspider twice. I found it a pain to clean and just not convinced it saves time on clean up. Never had a blocked pump in 39 brews (to date) and I like the idea of the hops being properly immersed in the...

    What did you brew today?

Nice smooth brew day. Japanese Rice Lager came out a lovely light (l’eau de piss) colour and nice and clear. First time using Sorachi Ace. Overshot the OG by 5 points but I’ll get over it.

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

The beer looks and sounds delish. Am liking the LHG glass!

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

A Greg Hughes Vienna Lager. Booked a day off tomorrow and will be brewing his Japanese Rice Lager, for the first time with this style.

Agreed. One of the best ones I’ve had I think

    What Malt Mill?

I googled 3 roller grain mill and eventually found some instructions for a, I think, bull dog mill which looked identical. Just on a work call and didn't bookmark the youtube vid I used but this one looks like a very similar mill.

Lager too malty, what to change for next time?

Good to hear as I plan to make this very recipe on Friday. Got the Wyeast starter on the go. I'll be sticking with the original recipe but may tweak with future batches. Looking forward to it.

Why did my first bottle destroy my kitchen?

Made me chuckle but I felt for you. Am sure that one cm was tasty. This video from Daft Cat Brewing is useful to watch.

    Greg Hughes recipes

Yes, but not unusual for a wheat beer. The aroma, taste and mouthfeel were great. I’d make it again but as it turned out at about 6% and punchy I’ll bottle it in 330ml bottles next time.

    Greg Hughes recipes

I made that a few weeks ago and dropped in 2kg of passion fruit puree. Turned out fantastic. Really strong aroma and taste. Have also done it with rasberries. Again, it made a decent drop; certainly a decent base to experiment with.

Yes, and the first time with this style. I bottled it yesterday and it tasted really, really good. I don’t normally drain the sample jar! Came out at 5% abv and am looking forward to it.
