How to get chocolate notes in beer kit

If you watch harrybrew69 on youtube, his plum porter video, he uses uncle roys plum essence. There is a chocolate essence in the natural essence range. https://www.uncleroys.co.uk/natural-flavours/chocolate-essence.html

    iSpindel in a brew fridge

Thanks, I've got it sending readings to brewfather whilst it is in the house, however when I put it in the brew fridge to test it out the readings stopped, so before I splash out on a range extender I just wanted to rule out any issue with it being in a metal box (fridge)

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

It's get p****ed Friday for me as I don't drink on a work day. First up is a taste test, a proper bottle of Moorhouse's Pendle Witch against my attempt. Firstly mine (on the right) is a bit darker, the real PW has a tiny bit more malt and fruit flavour, I'm putting the fruitiness down to the...

What are you drinking tonight 2020.

Last night it was my Black Sheep clone and I said to myself 'I think that's the best beer I've ever made' , also had a few Irish Red Ale (Greg Hughes) that is ok I think it will benefit from a long conditioning time

    Yeast slurry

It has finally occurred to me that I don't need to buy fresh liquid yeast for every brew I make. I have now started to collect the slurry and I'm keeping it in sterilised kilner jars in the fridge, I'm filling a 1 litre jar. So when using the slurry next time, how much of this should I pitch...

    I've had a disaster!

Hehe, yes it was actually a very good brew day with not much going wrong, I was slightly under desired mash temp by around a half degree but no big deal. But then I had the fermentation disaster!
