Ulez expanded to include whole of outer London

    1. I have just googled "motorway speed restriction due to air pollution" and highways England say they are trialling ( as of Dec 2022) various stretches of motorway but down to 60mph, please share the place that there is a 50 mph limit due to air pollution 2. just because your vehicle...

    Travel / Transport

Doesn't dropping the speed limit to 20mph markedly reduce the number of fatalities from RTAs? I'm pretty sure thats the reason for it.

    The Barge

I think you might be treading on dodgy ground there.

"Too many" are saying "it" for "them" and "wrong" please elucidate.

    The Barge

This is a load of rubbish, a Conservative "influencer" absolving the Tory government of every mistake. Thinking that the civil service are the problem is excusing this government for all of the mistakes it has made. The civil servants can only do what they are told, and has been seen they can be...

    The Barge

Not arrogance, they're just using the us v them card, again.

    Duty increase.

Thought I was doing well on £2.10!! I use my night rate for most, do an overnight mash, (heating the water on day rate just for mash, not sparge costs the same as sparge and boil), just means I have to get up at 3-4a.m.

    Duty increase.

Well it seems that no need to rush, I just filled in ex46 for July and old rate still, or have I done something wrong? (I filled in now as it seems my SPR is more favourable than the old 50%)

    Just stop oil

https://www.statista.com/chart/amp/27353/worst-black-carbon-polluters/ Half the ships are used for oil or transport carriers, now might they be carrying cars? Sound like two birds with one stone, result!

There is a consistent cry of public transport is no good, presently it isn't, it needs to change massively, it can work. It would be cheaper in the long run than EVs
  11. lancon

    Just stop oil

As in earlier post, it either has to be let's get it sorted, (public transport/less need to travel) or play at being concerned about the environment and our childen

    Just stop oil

And organised public transport could involve easily/reliably taking bikes on public transport

    Just stop oil

As I've posted in previous everyone has to put into the actions taken including showers at work, fairly normal in some places.

If you read the first line with no humour then get a grip. (Drive a car to the gym!!!!??!!)

    Just stop oil

Yes, the green business is a con trick, thinking petrol/hybrids/&EVs are the answer
  16. lancon

    Just stop oil

Well 14 miles commute perfect for cycling and removing the need for the gym!! But in reality proper organised public transport is the only way forward, the amount of energy used to make nevermind power personal transport is unsustainable
  17. lancon

    Just stop oil

good for the environment is debatable, better than existing perhaps. I still say less cars more public transport is the only way forward
  18. lancon

Well Sunak will probably be off to California and enough money to avoid jail . Shapps will just say it was Michael Green

She did continue on to say she had taken 5 or 6 steps, and what good reason for arrest? However it doesn't change that we certainly didn't see any pro motoring protesters arrested as mentioned in earlier post. Incidentally end of last year I was trying to get through the Dartford tunnel when...

    Duty increase.

If I remember correctly it was 30000 hectalitres for 50% then a sliding scale to 60000 hL. The main problem seems to be with the draught relief and takeouts from pubs, which I think will be resolved, there was a different rate for 7.5%+ and no duty for sub 1.2%. As regards each brewery having...
