Yeah I think if your paying for deliveries you can definitely save having prime. It’s a bit like Costco. If you get the Costco executive card you get 2% back on shopping. It adds up over the year to give you free membership. One year I got £80 and free membership back from the 2%.

Now tv is SKY! You can use Netflix on a few different devices with same log in at same time.

    Streaming TV and film.

Now tv is pretty decent. I generally juggle between Netflix and Amazon subscriptions. So if Netflix is getting boring I cancel for a few months and pay for prime for a few months, then when that gets dull I swap back over. That way I’m only ever paying for one subscription, my wee bro gave me...

Fermenting Wine in a Stainless Steel FV

I use a mangrove jack stainless steel fermenter and it’s brilliant. Never had a bad batch and wine has always came out great. Plus it’s easy to clean! With the wineworks kits I even clear in the same tank and only time I move the wine is when bottling.

    Covid-19 the second wave.

Sounds like London is in a hell of a state. We need to bring in the army, if they aren’t already there. I know our medical system is separate but - The Scots doctors and nurses should head down too if we have capacity. We all need to help them big time. This is pretty nasty for folks. 3 hours...

    Covid-19 the second wave.

Yep off course. The sooner they vaccinate the venerable the better. I employ a guy who’s missis works in a care home, min wage job also, they haven’t had a outbreak- however on new years day the boy got positive for covid and GF negative. He has absolutely no symptoms whatsoever, so now the GF...

    Covid-19 the second wave.

Yep definitely agree on education. Online learning last time was pants. My kids go to a very good school, infact arguably one of the best in Scotland, even then online learning was terrible. I also have a few friends who are teachers and lecturers, they are quite stereotypical leftie Union...

    Laptop recommendations?

Dell, HP, Lenovo seem to be pretty solid, I’m not a fan of ASUS, it’s quite a small budget, but I doubt you need it for more than the school work, so I would just pop online to Argos and get one that’s got a decent processor, and ram. I try and stick to Mac as much as possible but my clients...

    Covid-19 the second wave.

Couldn’t agree more. It has been very confusing and conflicting aswel as being used as a political football since the start. When really it should be the whole country singing from the same hymn sheet. Covid knows no borders in the UK. We all have friends colleagues or relatives in different parts.

Seems like loads of wine kits sold out. Suppose everyone is heading to make more brews now.

    Wine kit instructions

Okay so my glass demijohns are 5 litre and the kit says to make it to 4.5. So you recommend just filling it to say 3 or 4 litre and then after a few days of mad fermenting top it like you would a WOW?

Thanks John! Shall get the 6 bottle kits ordered now.

    Wine kit instructions

How did you get on with this? I was thinking of getting a few 6 bottle kits also but I only have glass demijohns at 5litre or 25litre stainless steel which would probably give it to much headspace and I'm worried I might crack the glass if I add hottish water which I normally do if they have...

Arise Sir Lewis the tax dodger

There is no point in getting high and mighty about paying loads of tax or even envious of those who earn loads of dosh and minimise their tax. Council tax generated pays mostly for public service final salary pensions which are more generous than anything you would ever get by working doubly...

    New Years resolution anyone?

Thanks man. I done well getting of **** as was a heavy smoker. But im sure 7 years of vaping can’t be good for you. Not touched it for 4 hours now. Saying that those nicotine pouch things have been numbing me. I reckon if can see in the bells drunk without touching it then I’m good to go.

    New Years resolution anyone?

Anyone having a New Years resolution or are we just all glad 2020 is about to be done and hopefully 2021 is the light at the end of the tunnel? I quit the **** 7 years ago and vaped like a trooper since. So mine is to get of this dummy *** as I find it abit embarrassing being a human haze...

    New Vine Co wine kits

I haven’t tried a lot of red kits yet but found the “Wine expert classic chateau du roi” to be pretty good. It’s 8litres of juice to 23ltr although I only got 19 litre after syphoning as per instructions a few times. It’s early days as only bottled last week, but it’s pretty strong in taste and...

The 'Recommend me a TV series' thread

Mad men! Absolutely amazing but think you need to get on prime now and Netflix discontinued it. Succession! This is Now tv if I remember. Amazing! Fauda - it’s Israeli about the secret service. Also amazing! Dubbed from Hebrew to English Billions! It’s okay esp the first season. I just...

    Pubs post COVID

Thanks Gerry, I should be able to ride it out in the hope that hospitality opens up somewhat for the summer. If there is no change in the summer then god knows.
