    Blowtie V2 spunding valve

How does the liquid get out of your "liquid out" post if there is no dip tube?

Help my fridge keep it's cool!

My fermentation fridge packed in earlier this year, before scrapping it I tried bypassing the thermostat as suggested above and bingo, works perfectly again now and gets colder than it ever did before for cold crashing. I was already controlling the temp with an inkbird so didn't need to do...

    Blowtie V2 spunding valve

I have also made the wrong post mistake, I lost the full batch of last year's Christmas stout overnight. Yeast must have gone off like a rocket 😑

    Electric cars.

This one gets me, there are many multi-billion pound companies with massive R&D departments that are all creating EV's but Barry on the internet knows better than all of them 🤔🤣 Disclaimer: 'Barry on the internet' was a made up person and not a dig at anyone who may be called Barry on this thread!

    Electric cars.

Seems like a standard increase this year 👍 I have recently renewed mine and my mum's (both ICE cars) insurance and they also both rose by around 50%

How many litres of home brew have you made 2023.

    19l kolsch Total: 8,070L

    Electric cars.

That's partly what I was thinking, if the cost of petrol and diesel rises as EVs take hold then that could have a significant effect on dropping used ice prices ... but there again supply and demand could significantly increase used ice prices if a large amount of people can not be convinced...

    Electric cars.

The residual value is an interesting one that I have not really considered before. It would be interesting to see if the price of ice cars plummet in the future as EVs become more popular or if the scarcity of ice cars and reluctance of some people moving to EVs will actually have the opposite...

Massive mistake - looking for advice

Sorry for ignoring you, think we cross posted so I have only just noticed this 🤦 In the end I added the tettnang in with 10g of spalter about 15 minutes into the boil and added the rest of the spalter for a 20 minute hop stand at 80 degrees. Think it is just going to be a case of waiting to...

Massive mistake - looking for advice

Hi all, I have just made a massive balls up 😭 I am currently making a kolsch and instead of putting 45g of spalter select in at 60 minutes I have opened the wrong packet and thrown in 70g of tettnang that were meant for 5 minutes and flame out ☹️ they went in to a hop spider so I have quickly...

    How dangerous is it?

Thanks for your thoughts. I can normally manage a brew in a morning with chilling but I don't worry about getting it all the way down to pitching temp. I generally get to below 30 and then stick it in my fermentation fridge and pitch the yeast later on that day once the temp has stabilised. I...

    How dangerous is it?

What would you say are the benefits of no chill? Other than the obvious time/water savings. This is a genuine question rather than trying to be dismissive

all grain queries for a beginner

Grain prices have gone up recently, I ordered enough grain and hops for a Kolsh last night from CML and it came to just short of £25
