Hi, no, they are not the same product. We have had brilliant results using incognito. General advise is to use in conjunction with a small amount of pellet hops. The idea is the oils sticks to the pellet material and distributes really well within the wort. It also makes clean up much easier.

I know loads of brewers that have started that way. Funnily, I jumped right into all grain on two smaller saucepans, it worked out ok and I made very drinkable beer with next to no outlay on equipment.

I would think adding post fermentation would be a much more controllable process. Lavender is very tricky in any food or drink I find. Soak some in vodka then add that at packaging stage. If you boil lavender I would imagine it taking on that "cooked" flavour very quickly.
