    TC with ale yeast

well... as far as residual sweetness goes we may never know  . In a moment of madness i threw in an entire bottle of raspberry syrup from Tesco :wha: On the upside, ive got two FV's free now, which means i'm nearly ready for a big batch!

will warm conditioning for longer improve taste?

In my limited experience it does improve whilst in the warm, maybe not as well as if it were at cellar temp but I have been unable to test side by side

    Robsan77s commercial venture, Totally Brewed!

When I have a brewery, even just in my shed, its going to be clad in wood! Looking good!

    Country Wines from Last Year.

It sounds like I should climb through the just under my stairs to test my elderberry and blackberry Although that brings on the worrying possibility of having to bottle 10-12 gallons of wine.

Hard lumps of spraymalt in my brew

Pour the spraymalt slowly through a small hole in the corner of the bag, and stir like crazy with your other free hand. I have added spraymalt to cold water before with mixed without any issue, so i'm unsure if its a heat problem. Fix a big whisk or paddle to a drill and your laughing

Adding fruit syrups to kit cider?

I would test it before you add sweetener, the kits sometimes come with it already added. A good option is to add some / or all apple juice instead of water and reduce the sugar you add (if any is added?) based on the amount of sugar in the juice. I have used the polish syrups in to a secondary...

Your average pub pint compared to home brew?

Because we don't have to pay duty, wages and delivery costs we can afford to make a better pint. I try to drink mild at the pub, you always get what your expecting that way!

Four cans two brews, with some live brewery yeast

a good day today; Best bitter single can brew has been put in the PB with a newly converted s30 valve. Primed with 150g sugar, I expect a leak and to loose some gas. And the two can traditional ale kit has been bottled; 36 bottles cleaned and filled. Primed with 90g sugar...

Surely we can find this ruddy 'plane?

Considering I can find my smart phone within ten minutes if somebody stole it.. i would have hoped systems were in place to find a sodding airliner. I'm surprised Rolls Royce don't have tracking on their engines location, considering they lease them to airlines.

Four cans two brews, with some live brewery yeast

After adding a goldings hop tea if about 1L using 10g of hops to each of the three buckets, and then a dry hop of 10g (ish) to each they are are tasting much better than any previous John bull kit. A combination of a better quality yeast and also hops is certainly the way forwards with cheap...

Best bottles to use for a Youngs twin handled capper

Any of the cider bottles tend to work: kopparburg, bulmers, magners, stella (if clear are to be used for cider etc). The only ones which are a real pain in the arse are the wychwood beer bottles, take along your capper and some caps for any your not sure about :)

    Which keg???

The kegs with the wide lids are easier to clean, and the taps are fitted with a locking nut rather then a threaded hole (which can become worn) but they all use a similar method of sealing. There are alternatives such as a polypin, 'Corny Keg', and pub style 'sankey kegs'. All have their...

Surely we can find this ruddy 'plane?

It seems to be looking more and more likely that the plane has been hijacked. From what I've heard it could have flown for 7 hours after its last position, that's a crazy distance at cruising speed.. although if its changed altitude several times to avoid primary RADAR that'll shorten the search...

    Ebay cornelius kegs anyone?

The thought process must be "second hand price x2 + disconnects + party tap + 10% profit"...

    Ebay cornelius kegs anyone?

I expect tHat will go up by 5-6 times the current cost in the next four days! Still would be cheaper than my local shop selling them new with disconnects and plastic tap for £170 each....

    15L Justeau water bottles

It will sit on top and you can drill out a hole in the top for a hung, I removed it entirely and replaced it with a red/brown rubber cap which takes an air lock. It cost about £1.25 and I think they are sold as "better brew caps". I'll be able to confirm the name once im not using my phone browser

    Cooling a Keg

Give it a couple of hours in a bath of water and ice before the BBQ, not quite as easy as putting it in a fridge... But if you don't have enough room in the fridge (or so your wife says...) then its a good option. Just avoid unsettling too much sediment.

    Out-of-date Geordie Scottish Export

it may be past its best, but it should be fine. I did an 11 year old wine kit last year and it tastes pretty good

    British Cask Beer Head

I keep the bottled beer im drinking in the fridge, and plan my drinking in advance so I take one out about half an hour to an hour before drinking. Any beer in a pressure barrel stays in the fridge or under the stairs

    TC with ale yeast

Much appreciated, but its time i tried again to culture some I've tried before for my first TC and it became infected, but I'm trying to get some more going from the bottle of Tc you gave me(which was excellent!)... The plan is to drink the other one at the weekend and add that in as well...
