Surely we can find this ruddy 'plane?

I did a load yesterday and found it quite addictive, took awhile to get used to what you were seeing, did tag a couple of odd bits but as I looked at more they seemed less and less unusual / suspicious

Would be good to have some idea where you are, as you say it all depends what data they have made available

1057 and counting
13 flags mainly oil slicks which funnily enough are all about 100 miles from oil wells

Sorry, I don't think it is really a joking matter. Please correct me if I am wrong..

This is the 'Snug,' we come here to drink and have a laugh ....... no? Or shall we just moan into our pints and kick the dog on the way out :(

Though I'm happy for the barman (Mod) to ask me to leave.

Sorry, bad taste and a couple of members complained.

Objection sustained, post deleted.

It seems to be looking more and more likely that the plane has been hijacked. From what I've heard it could have flown for 7 hours after its last position, that's a crazy distance at cruising speed.. although if its changed altitude several times to avoid primary RADAR that'll shorten the search area down to maybe... a few thousand square miles

Quite extraordinary that the automatic, routine search of the pilot's home that should have taken place immediately is now being undertaken a week later. Of course he may be innocent, but eliminating him from enquiries should have been done as soon as the plane was known to be missing - which if you think about it is well before that 7 hours was up. So if it does yield any clues, finding those a week ago might have been pretty handy. Like knowing where the plane was going before it even got there.

Considering I can find my smart phone within ten minutes if somebody stole it.. i would have hoped systems were in place to find a sodding airliner.

I'm surprised Rolls Royce don't have tracking on their engines location, considering they lease them to airlines.

Rolls Royce do get 30-minute bursts of data on stuff like temperature, fuel use, that kind of thing. But it's not to know where the engine is, rather how it's performing.

I have a horrible suspicion that the plane was taken for a specific purpose and it and the passengers are all intact somewhere. My fear is that the cargo hold will be filled with explosives and possibly an additional payload such as radio active or toxic waste and that the plane with passengers will be flown at something important.

Obviously any air force would have to shoot it out of the sky thus killing the passengers and distributing any additional payload. Kind of a lose lose situation whatever.

It's looking that way but for the air corridors that it has been tied to from the satellite data. That and the chance of it making through Indian airspace intact is slim to none. I'm thinking that WAS the plan but they bottled it and it's in the drink somewhere.
