    Olicana or Waimea?

I've spotted Waimea in a couple of beers that have been quite nice so I'd prob go with that if you're trying to choose

Any Fastferment conical FV users out there?

My one was a 50L one and it's that version that seems to have all the bad reviews whereas the 30L one seems to be fairing better out there.

Any Fastferment conical FV users out there?

I spent hours trying to resolve the issues (i.e. stop the leaks) and followed the assembly instruction videos which basically say to keep wrapping PTFE tape round all the threads until the leaks stop. Trouble is, when you're using up a whole roll of PTFE tape and still seeing little leaks...

Any Fastferment conical FV users out there?

Update: wish i'd read the reviews before purchasing. I was hoping those giys had been unlucky and got a dodgy unit but it looks like they're all crap. Wish i hadnt wasted my money on the cheap plastic crap. Ade dunn is right, if anyone's thinking of going down the conical route, get a steel one!

    Where to use Northdown

Are northdown hops similar to northern brewer hops? If so, you could do a Californian Common (Steamer) which is quite nice....lager yeast but brewed like a pale ale

    Hop pellets V’s leaves

There's something more 'authentic' about using hops in their traditional form (i.e.leaves) but ive found that they can be a pain when you're transferring hopped wort (hops getting stuck in siphons etc) so prefer pellets from a practical pointnof view. Conversely, if you use hop socks or filters...

    Citrus IPA help

The IBUs still seem high so im guessibg this is a small brew? Its all down to personal taste but i tend to aim for ibu value of 35 - 50 for a pale ale / bitter. Do you like really 'bitter' beers or more 'balanced'?

    Citrus IPA help

Bit tricky for me using imperial units but just looking at your IBU at 88, did you want it to be bitter (as it will be!). also, in my experience the Citra hop itself can be quite bitter in flavour regardless of the IBU - you might be better dialling down the weight at the front end of the brew...

    DiY wort chiller

I made my own once using the techniques described above but it become a bit of a mare to keep clean/sanitized and it was using a huge amount of water to get down to pitching temp. Recently I've been transferring to a jerry can and doing the no chill thing. However, last week I discovered a hole...
