What do you do for a living.

Is that for music venues and studios? If so which company?

    Bière de Garde Brewday

Yes and no. It was brewed for the same purpose as a saison but usually tastes completely different. The most well known ones are amber, malty and clean tasting with minimal hop flavour and aroma. There are quite a few blond ones now and also a couple that are brown. It's quite a flexible...

    Bière de Garde Brewday

Beer hawk is really expensive. Even with the postal costs it was cheaper to use Saveur Biere than anywhere in the uk. Just looked at beerhawk again and it has one beer in the French section. And it's Belgian. This is a total p***take!

Hop house 13 is rubbish. Smells of cheese.

    Bière de Garde Brewday

I'm a fan of this style as well. Managed to get that same yeast and just waiting for the first batch I've done with it to condition. I did a load of batches last year with WLP011 and they were decent enough. I figured you must mean Saveur Biere as the place that got bought out. Just looked and...

    AG #6 - German Altbier

They're hard to get your hands on over here. I've only seen Schlosser and had another at a beer festival. Lovely beers, I'd love to go to Dusseldorf to try them. I'm interested in how that K 97 yeast is. Have you used it before? Munich as a base with a little caramunich makes a good Alt too...

    Bottling into Meantime 750ml Bottles?

Malt miller sells corks and cages and also a hand corker you can use for them. There's also an upright corker that ferrari do which is what I use.

Its diacetyl and it must be that they get rid of the yeast before it tidies up.

    AG52 Simple Saison

Yeah that's just what I need. And it's more compact than other kit so I can save some storage space. I know my current gear well enough to get very consistent results but it's limited in step mashing and the BM will solve that too. Sorry to hijack your thread Steve!

Great! I've just bottled one too so can swap that once it's ready. Brewing has been a bit slower lately. I'm seriously considering getting a braumeister so I can brew whole doing other stuff.

Should be a cracker. 566 is good too if you have trouble getting this to finish. Meant to also be from dupont but perhaps one of a multi strain culture.

Red stripe is really nasty, especially if it gets warm. I find bottled doom bar hard to drink too, it's really buttery but with very little else.

    Pubs in London/Shoreditch

There are a few good ones round London Bridge too. The market porter and the rake are great. You can get a nice fullers at the barrowboy and banker too.

There's a chain called Gollum that has loads of good Belgian beer. Brouwerij T'ij is a really well known local brewery that's worth a visit. De Prael has a bar right in the centre of town and Oedipus and Troost are also pretty near the centre and I think they're open to the public.

Taking Homebrew from EU to UK

Should be fine, there's no limit to what you can take as long as it's for personal consumption.

I swear I buy more beer for "research" than I ever used to!

    Syphon or Tap

I use the method in that video too when I siphon, great way of doing it. It depends on yeast as some Belgian ones are easily disturbed and come straight out the tap if I use one, whereas others don't.

A few of my favourites are nearby in Farringdon. Jerusalem tavern and the dovetail. Very short bus or train journey away. Amsterdam is amazing for beer too.

    Using caramel in brown ale

You can buy brewers caramel from home brew shops. When beers go downhill it can he to do with using less ingredients, changes in water and also quick turnaround meaning the beer doesn't condition properly. Bland beer sells more, just like bland food does so I'm pretty sure the big boys try...

    Beer in Amsterdam

Brouweij t'ij, troost, brouweij de Prael and oedipus are all good breweries worth checking. Last time I was there I went to a great Belgian bar called westerdok which had loads of good stuff and the owner was very knowledgeable. Gollem pubs are really good as mentioned. You can quite often...
