    I started brewing elderflower wine last week, I think I made a mistake, after filtering in to a demijohn after 4 days, i added yeast, no pectolase, as it reacted with natural yeast? So its just sunk to bottom and very little bubbles or fermenting happening. Can it be recovered? Please help

    I have got 5kg of rhubarb to make wine, what I am wondering is how much sugar to Use? I have seen recipes for 1kg Rhubarb to to 1 kg sugar, thinking do I just times mine by 5? Also how much can I expect to make in Litres? Never done this wine before.

    I heard very evasive , so I cut and trimmed where collected, only brought back what I needed to boil. I don't think a filter will help ,its not collecting sediment at bottom much.

    Thanks, I bottled 16 the rest in keg, added sugar to keg and carbonation drops to bottles. Should I gas straight away now that I added sugar?

    I have been considering getting a beer engine, I am not sure how I would connect to my plastic 5 gallon keg, would the pipe connect to keg tap or use a special top with tube access? Cheers

    Making supermarket juice wine without boiling water.

    I have made a few from Waitrose juices, especially like grape & peach also apple and raspberry were nice too,must get more on the go. I use 3 litres of juice topped up with disolved sugar water.

    I tried a reading today, said 1.002. Tastes quite nice slightly cloudy and a good head, needs a slow pour from keg. I won't be so impatient next time, might try an IPA next.
