    The Vegan and Veggie thread.

Because meat is delicious, if you can get something approaching that flavour without killing animals then why not? Also not every vegetarian / vegan chooses that diet for moral reasons. Again I'll point out I'm a committed meat eater but I've heard this argument so many times and it just...

    The Vegan and Veggie thread.

Linda McCartney fake meat pies used to be remarkably good for veggie food.

    Golden syrup.

Well yeah, if you're quite happy with bottle priming then don't change. But the OP clearly isn't!

    The Vegan and Veggie thread.

Hmm. I get that to an extent, but it's just to give a point of reference, surely? If someone offered me a vegan protein disc or a veggieburger I know which I'd be likely to choose. (It's neither if there's a meat burger available. But at least I understand what a veggieburger is.)

    Golden syrup.

This. I used to prime each bottle individually, and when I finally tried batch priming in a second bucket it dawned on me that I was an ***** for not trying it sooner.

Which Musical Instruments Do You Play?

Ha! No, I have been Live at Budokan though. As in I went to Budokan, and I was not dead. Only small venues for me, I'm afraid!

    Stella now 4.6%!

    Corrected it for you.

    The Vegan and Veggie thread.

Who's calling grass meat?? Not to defend vegans here (I'm a card-carrying omnivore, I love a nice steak) but I've never heard anyone say that?

    Fake texts.

You'll note in that interview he makes fleeting reference to people receiving refunds "or vouchers". A voucher is not the same as a refund, but people will take what they're offered if they think that's the best they'll get.

Which Musical Instruments Do You Play?

Drums, though I haven't really played in about five years. I toured Japan in the band I played in when I lived over there, good times they were!

    R.I.P Thread.

He went far too young, did Dickie - an awful example of what the drink can do to you if you're not careful. He was one of the greatest guitarists punk rock has ever turned out, nowhere near widely enough known about, and a lovely bloke from the few experiences I had of meeting him. "Mush" is a...

    Best beer in the world

I've done the same and although I got home in one piece I was a terrible mess. Fell asleep eating my dinner in Cambrinus in Bruges one night, almost shat myself on the walk back my hotel on another. Sessions in Bruges are dangerous.

They look amazing, but I reckon they'd stay hotter than the sun on the inside and I'd definitely burn all of the flesh off the inside of my mouth eating them too soon.

Is it Possible to make an impy stout using a kit

https://us.diybeer.com/russian-imperial-stout-20-litres I did this recipe about 5 years ago, it's delicious but it takes a long time to condition in bottles. Very boozy indeed.

https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/293271034 However, this is only because my love of pork scratchings would send me to an early grave if I ate them as often as I'd like.

    Best beer in the world

There's no such thing as "the best beer in the world". Best in style maybe - and Westvleteren 12 is there or thereabouts for a Belgian Quad - but with styles being so different I don't think it's possible to call an overall best.

Anyone tried this fermenter for beer

No, but it's a plastic fermenting bucket - there's very little that can go wrong!

    Covid-19 the second wave.

Landlady from my old local was in Life of Brian, one of the women at the stoning. She was on holiday where they were filming and apparently the Pythons showed up at the hotel asking if anyone wanted to be in a film!

    Verdant IPA yeast

I got this in the EPA I've just started drinking, it's been in the bottle 2 1/2 weeks now and it's fading quickly though. It was a pronounced vanilla note though, I wasn't impressed!

    Verdant IPA yeast

The recipe I used called for as neutral a yeast as possible - I'd go for US05 or BRY97. I think I prefer BRY97 overall but it's always had a long lag time between pitching and noticeable activity when I've used it which can be unnerving.
