    Alzheimer's and football.

To give you an example, this is a perfectly legal tackle with no contact to the head: I'd be surprised if Jules Plisson can remember anything about that game given that hit.

Contact with speed and force. I don't think it even needs to be direct to the head, honestly. I played through youth and colts levels up to uni and even then with players far smaller and lighter than they are now the collisions would make your ears ring and have you seeing stars. You're doing...

This will make things interesting: Ex-rugby players to sue for brain damage

Baloni by name, baloney by nature.

    SS or Wooden Mash Paddle

I've used a long wooden spoon for about 4 years with no apparent issues. It's only used before and during the boil though so no chance of contamination.

    Greg Hughes recipes

I've just started drinking the GH Imperial Stout after about a month in the bottle. It's going to get better with more conditioning but it's already delicious.

    Chicken and turnip eh? Exotic!

    Alzheimer's and football.

This is spot on. I love boxing, and my Dad (an retired headmaster) attests to the fact that local boxing clubs have kept loads of young lads who'd have taken the wrong path on the straight and narrow, and taught them the discipline they've needed to get on in life. It's a sport in which you...

    Alzheimer's and football.

I think as understanding of brain injury improves we'll start to see far more links between chronic conditions and contact sport. "Punch drunkness" has already been mentioned, but you've got Muhammad Ali with Parkinson's disease, Doddie Wear and and Rob Burrow (rugby union and league) suffering...

As I said, far too obvious.

Way too obvious, if you want to pick a fight you need to be much more subtle and wait until later when everyone has had a drink!

Steady on, treating them like knackered horses is a bit harsh!

Has anyone else just had enough?

First lockdown was fine - weather was good, replaced the gym with the bike for exercise, enjoyed working from home with the kids here. This time has been bad. Gym closed, weather dreadful, spent the last month sitting on the sofa doing nowt but drinking, eating and getting fat. Work went...

    Covid-19 the second wave.

Won't the wider scope of the vaccine mean the virus is more likely to die out than flu though? I only started having flu jabs a few years ago when they were offered free through work, I'd hazard a guess that's the same for most people with only a relatively small percentage of the population...

    Old world Russian imperial stout

As Steve says, be careful with the DIY Dog recipes, many of them are wildly inaccurate.

    Best drink drunk?

Seven years, eh? What did you do??

    Best drink drunk?

Impossible to name any single one, but oddly enough a good few of mine have been very ordinary lager. Some good ones though: Litre stein of Sapporo Black Label at the Sapporo brewery beer hall in Sapporo (how many more times can I say Sapporo is a sentence?) over a lamb "jingsukan" barbecue...
