    Berocca and Other Effervescent Drinks

From memory, I’m sure I read somewhere that alcohol “flushes” if that’s the correct word most vitamins out of our blood stream. So it would seem a bit pointless from the 5 a day aspect. Having tried similar tablets in a glass of water I would also guess the carbonation given off by the tablet...

How much sugar needed for carbonation...

I used to always bottle prime until I tried batch priming with a bottling bucket, that coupled with a little bottler is so easy. Also the only time Iv had variable carbonation levels was in a bottle primed brew.

    youngs new world saison

Hi all I brewed this kit around 4 years ago with my usual method, low and slow. 19’ and 23 days fermentation. Temp may have been a little low going by instructions but it turned out a cracking brew and v popular with a couple of friends too ashock1 lol Would (should) definitely do another

    Festival razorback ipa

That may be your problem then, most of your carbonation escaped in that 24hrs. The cool box may help, if there’s a next time prime and bottle/keg at the same time, then leave to condition for two weeks at a similar temperature you fermented at then move to somewhere cool for a couple of weeks...

    Festival razorback ipa

How did you prime, batch or bottle? And did you give them 2 weeks warm and then cold condition? Please don’t think I’m patronising, it’s easy to miss the small details that can make the difference:beer1:

    American Mocha Porter

Have you guys been making starters if your having yeast problems ?

Probably a little late now but in my experience it’s when not how long your hops are in. After 14 days is/would have been fine, in fact that would be the minimum I would ferment for. Hops are best added for between 3/5 days ideally in a muslin bag. You are joking about drinking day after...

    Bottle Priming temperature

Not sure where in the world you are dude but 7’ might be a bit optimistic after finishing my shift at 06.30 today. How do you ferment? I had a similar problem a while back, I used my heat pad inside an old insulated kitchen cupboard. Hope this helps. 😁

    'Black dog syndrome'

I heard through a friend black dog syndrome was an expression used by the rozzers to describe unexplained rear end shunt type accidents - “I had to brake hard to avoid that black dog that ran across the road...” 🙄

    Woodfordes Nelsons Revenge

Id agree with Graz, iv never heard of twisting bottles i would put them to bed in your cool? garage for a couple of weeks. If your using 500ml bottles half tsp should be fine unless you like a gassy brew.

    Out of date kits

Just to tag in this thread, what’s the general opinion on out of date spray malt? Sealed bags obviously, 6 months past ubd. I hate to waste anything but wasting a brew would be even worse.

    Keg pressure?

I found a good way of judging this is giving your empty PB a squirt before putting your brew in, its surprising how little gas it takes to make your barrel bulge. It’s also a handy way of checking your fittings are gas tight before putting your brew in.

    Alternatives to Stout

Iv made a coco and black treacle stout several times, highly recommended😝

    Hello from linconshire

Hi all Thought I'd tag on this thread as I'm a yellow belly too 🚜 I'm hoping to get back in the groove after what seems to be a common "interruption" to our hobby. Liking the new layout of the site and seeing some familiar usernames. I'm a kit brewer with an addiction to hops lol so...

    Coopers FV Tap

Probably not much help, but I have youngs barrels with the white taps, Ive noticed the same problem I'm not brave enough to disassemble it although I've fead it's possible. I just soak mine in vwp overnight with the tap open, it usually works.

    Is it just me?

Id go along with the palette theory as I made a Burton bridge porter, the first mouthful had a strange but not nasty aroma and taste, unless you were having it with food when it tasted fine.
