Bottle Priming temperature

Hi all,

The last couple of brews have been primed and bottled, but are currently sat in the garage which is anywhere from 7-15C at the moment. Will it just be the case that it will take a little longer to ferment than if I brought it in the house (20-22)?

Not allowed to bring the bottles inside anymore... especially with a 2 year old running around who likes to pick them up and pretend to drink.....:nono:

It depends on the yeast. Most ale yeast will ferment at 10C and above, albeit slowly, but some conk out under 13C or so.

If you have to keep them in the garage to carb make sure they’re off the floor and try and insulate them if you can.

Not sure where in the world you are dude but 7’ might be a bit optimistic after finishing my shift at 06.30 today.
How do you ferment? I had a similar problem a while back, I used my heat pad inside an old insulated kitchen cupboard. Hope this helps. 😁

That's probably going to be a bit cool - if it carbs at all it's going to take a long while.

Well I opened a pilsner early to taste and it was full of yeast almost like a bloody wheat beer. So I’ve pull two complete brews into the house and not told the wife it’s in the hall way! And it will be staying for a few days.......View attachment IMG_2815.JPG

Get down to wickes etc and buy two full sheets of 50mm insulation. Build a basic pantry from them with a small heat in the bottom. Mind do the bottom Also.Tape the joints to make a hinged door. Cheap, but very effective. Oh and a happy misses:lol:

Good job you brought them in - a very hard frost forecast for the weekend, then getting milder midweek before heading for the freezer again.
