Added the hops yesterday to my Golden Stag which was day 9 in the FV, hoping to transfer to a PB on Sunday depending on the hydrometer reading.

Hi all, I was pouring myself a pint of my first ever brew, Nelson Reserve earlier from my PB and I'm sure a small amount of air got sucked back up through the valve into the PB, as soon as I'd done it I gave it a blast of CO2, have I ruined the lot or will I get away with it? If it is nakkard...

I thought that it would make sense that it would taste stronger if they were left in longer but thought I had read elsewhere that it was the opposite?! Think I'll add them about 5 days before going into the PB. Cheers.

So is the hop taste stronger if you add them later? It's been a week in FV now and the hydrometer has only dropped to 1018 from 1042 so still a way to go yet.

Mines been in the FV for 6 days now, it says to add the hops on day 5 but have read in a few places that people tend to wait until a bit further down the line as fermentation generally takes longer than stated, am I right in thinking that the later I had the hops the stronger the hop taste will...

Had my first pint of this last night and was impressed! Still a bit cloudy but reckon that'll clear in a couple of weeks, definitely on par with pints I've had from Wetherspoons so I'm pretty chuffed! :cheers:

Just noticed that the Woodfordes Wherry kits are down to £16.50 on this deal, can't be bad, shame they haven't got some of their other kits too as I've already got a Wherry in a PB.
