Cheapest overall online retailer for ingredients?

My only little problem with GetErBrewing is they are quite slow to progress order, orders on Monday arrives on Friday. But this is minor issue, packing is very good, liquid yeast came with cool pack. When you order custom kit, you need to remember all the grain will be mixed together - which is...

Cheapest overall online retailer for ingredients?

I think for grain , you will find GetErBrewed is cheapest. Unless you buy 25KG at once, than you can find better deals. Some will offer free deliver if order is £60 or above. Malt Miller does Royal Mail for £3.60 up to 600g - so if you need hops, small amount of grain etc.

    Post Brexit food standards,,,

I fully agree, it doesn't look great already, but I really hope that with time it will be worked out. I was one to argue with Brexiters, but there is no point anymore, goverment who wanted to implement Brexit has won last election, hence I can't see the point of arguing againts it. But I still...

Is there a go to fermentor for 10L brews?

It is common misconseption, that fermenter needs to be airtight - it doesn't. Covering it is enough. There are lots of breweries that ferment in open fermenters. As long as it is water tight and food grade, it is good enough. You can even use stotage boxes. Airlock activity is not necessary good...

    Post Brexit food standards,,,

I guess most malt we use is British produced - Marris otter and pale. Pilsner malt and so on, bit different story. Crisp do Europils malt, not sure if the use British barley for that or import raw grain and malt it themselves. Equipment wise, lots of it comes from China anyway, so that should...

    Post Brexit food standards,,,

The things is, that EU food regulation ate just basic minimal standards, mainly for food safety, each country can build on those standards to even higher ones. So for me this is clearly to lower those standards below those from EU - well known chlorinated chickens, using growth hormones etc -...

FM42 - Old Rhine - yeast for Kolsch

After I have posted I have read information on their site and was fully surprised to see that they say that 1 vial for ale is enough. Anyway, you don't have to buy 10 vials, you just do the yeast starter - don't need stir plate, just a container. Look it up. I'm sure others will come back...

FM42 - Old Rhine - yeast for Kolsch

Looking at the description, vial contains only up to 30 billion cells, so 2 of those would be 60 billions. As it is near best before, some cells are dead as well. Do you have 20L in fermenter? According to calculator you should have around 370 billions, so possibly massively, under pitched -...
