    quick fermentation question

I've only got limited AG experience (about 10 brews so far, but have used either S04 or 05 in all of them) but I would expect S04 to go lower than 1020 even with an OG of 1060. I'd leave it a few more days - it won't hurt, I have left mine three weeks in the FV with no problems at all - and see...

    Chat

I like the chat but only ever seem to use it when I'm in the middle of a brew :) I went on there yesterday afternoon to proclaim how proud I was of what I'd just made, but no one was playing...

    quick fermentation question

That's a fair bit of attenuation already... what yeast did you use, and what temp did you mash at?

    AG #2 - APA

Yes - it has a habit of doing that :D Awesome yeast...

    AG n+1: Calapooya American Amber

I've been brewing American style ales all summer, I've become totally addicted to Amarillo hops. This weekend will be the first English ale style I'll have brewed since about April...

    First time with US-05

I love US05. Mine tends to attenuate down to 1007 irrespective of OG within four of five days. I always leave in the FV for two weeks though, and when bottling my last pale it was pretty clear already. Checked it last night - three days after bottling - and it's acceptably clear now, so should...

    Chicarillo APA

Brewing tonight, oh yes  Just can't get enough of the American hops and their awesome aroma and citrusy flavour. I've just started drinking my Citra IPA that was bittered with Challenger and had a whole load of Citra for aroma, and I'm well chuffed with the results :D so tonight I'm...

    Brew day No3 today

Looks like you've got some good efficiency there if you've managed to extract 1051 with four and a half kg of malt :)

    3 kw elements

Hmmm. I use that element, have done about eight brews with it and have noticed a couple of tiny flakes on the chrome already. So I'd also like to know how many boils brought it into that condition?

AG #1 - New Flat Ale

Amarillo has to be my favourite hop at the moment. I made an Amarillo IPA recently which I've just started to drink and it's absolutely stunning. That aroma... I'd agree that dry hopping the rest is the way to go :) This weekend I made a Citra IPA with Challenger for bittering and 100g of Citra...

    repitching US05

Yes, agreed. Lovely clean flavour - I'm sipping an Amarillo IPA as I type and it's gorgeous - but it's still hazy and my recent SNPA is the same. I'm not all that bothered, but I am about to brew a Citra recipe with S05, half of which is for a friend's party, so I'm considering using some...

    Beersmith 2.0

I've only used Beer Engine so far. Is Beersmith that much better?

Tiny bubbles when bottling - still fermenting?

I bottle just about all my beer and often see a similar thing. But to answer your question "will my bottles explode" needs a couple more details: How much priming sugar did you use? What type of bottles are they? You do need an immense amount of pressure to get a proper beer bottle to go...

    so4 yeast

Yeah, that's where I got some from.

    AG KIT CHOICE

My first two AG brews were a Youngs Special and Wadworths JCB that I got from Worcester Hop Shop. Both turned out very well :thumb:

    Citra ESB

Right chaps, next brew I want to use some Citra that arrived last week. Really into the idea of a hoppy yet dark summer ale (kind of like a black IPA), so what do you think of this: 46 litre brew length Mash at 66 degrees Assuming 70% efficiency (the Amarillo IPA I made on Friday just about...

    First Wort Hops

I've never thought of doing this... what a great idea! I'm brewing an Amarillo/Cascade IPA tonight, so I'll give it a go. Cheers

Legality of free beer at weddings?

I think you would find that the Revenue, may they burn in hell, have much bigger fish to fry than following up on a few home-brewed pints. I really wouldn't worry about it...

Pressure leak! What are my options

Get a Corny. Sorry but placcy barrels are a waste of time in my experience. I think they're a load of rubbish so I've moved over to a proper dispensing system that barely costs any more :)
