What are you drinking tonight 2021?

Pint of pilsner and some beer snacks. This is the first time I have used sorachi ace and it's perhaps a bit floral for this beer.

    Brew father

I used brewer's friend for a couple of years but was getting more and more fed up with how parts of my recipes would disappear as I edited other bits. Tried brewfather based on recommendations in another thread earlier this year and love it. So easy to use, see changes you make in real time, I...

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

This neipa new in the farm shop from Cellar Head brewery on the Kent/East Sussex border This has more of a fruity hop flavour than being 'juicy' but really nicely balanced with very little bitterness and too easily drinkable :D

    Squeezing the hop bag😱

I use a siphon with a filter like this Stainless Steel Mesh Homebrew Inching Siphon Filter Home Brew Beer Wine Making | eBay on the end of the racking cane - works a treat athumb..

    RO Filters

Have a look at Reverse Osmosis Systems | Commercial RO Systems I have the 4 stage filter, have used it for a few brews so far and can recommend it. I know a few others here have the same ones

    Cheapest no rinse sanitiser

Just make up as much as you need, so 5ml in 5l, 10ml in 10l etc. You don't need to fill a fermenter with it, I put a couple of litres in and give it a good shake - it foams up and covers everything

This was perhaps a little too subtle?? :laugh8:

    Brew years resolutions?

I'm not sure I've got the space to emulate your expansion though :laugh8:

    Brew years resolutions?

Well I got my first keg set up and then quickly ordered a second and a third, 4-way gas manifold, counterflow bottle filler, carbonation cap. I am now looking at a fourth and fifth keg so I have certainly covered this resolution. I should have gone to kegs ages ago... Regarding my mash tun tap...

    B8's Brewing

I have ordered about 6-8 items this year, all relatively low price goods under £25 and haven't had any problems. Generally they arrive with a customs note saying they are a nominal value of $3 or something.

    B8's Brewing

No worries. I have ordered a few things recently and was a bit sceptical but there have been no unexpected charges apart from the VAT charged at checkout. Just ordered some grain bags after my recent stuck/slow lauters

    B8's Brewing

Hi Rod, I bought one like this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000009302154.html Plus silicone hose and ball valve all from aliexpress, took about 3 weeks to arrive.

Lagering - Can I do it in a Corny!

I'd do the same as @LeeH - cold crash for up to a week in the fermenter then bottle/keg and then let it lager and condition for a few more weeks (or as long as you can leave it alone)

    B8's Brewing

Thought I'd do a proper write up with photos from today's brew. In fact as I did an overnight mash it started yesterday. This was an attempt at @foxbat's Fuggle Duck bitter but adjusted to use up some ingredients I already had. Trying out my new pump for the first time, it's small but does the...

What are you drinking tonight 2021?

Presumably the same thing that caused beer made from bird seed or fruit & fibre, love the experimentation athumb..

    First brew fail...Muntons American IPA

If I understand what you are saying correctly then you effectively double primed the beer in the pressure barrel and then only gave it a maximum of 48hrs to secondary ferment at possibly not that warm a temperature. I would suggest that the priming sugar has not been fully fermented which has...
