    Electric cars.

The most important thing is to know your charge curve. On mine (155kW max DC charge), it stays above 100kW to 75% and around 150Kw to 45%. So I'd usually wait until below 20% SOC before charging because I can take on 25kWh in 10 minutes and another 20 in the next 10. No real point in continuing...

    Wall mounted regulators

Anyhoo I've tried the N2 cartridges and they work. Took three to get the proper cascading pour (although I made a bit of a horlicks of one of them). So maybe two would have been enough. I have it pressurised to just over 20Psi (not sure if this is correct or not, but was about the level where I...

I know, I know. But the CO2 in the keg was naturally created, not added, so after the gizmo is connected, it'll be N2 from then on.

Sort of Stuck Mash and Burnt Brewmonk!

+1 on the rice hulls. Makes a big difference to the mash permeability and also seems to increase mash efficiency. About 5% of the total grain bill works for me. I'm afraid the only answer to the burnt bottom is lots of elbow grease. I use the nylon pads rather than stainless. Less scratches...

    Steel weight for dry hopping

Stainless steel I would imagine. I have a hop ball that looks like galvanised steel. Could be stainless, never checked. Edit: Checked, it's stainless.

    Wall mounted regulators

You can also get them from TMM, they can be ordered with the gizmo. Click the piccie for the link. Edit: My thinking was I'd have carbonation in the keg and use the N2 capsules to push out the beer. The beauty of them is that you won't use too much and it's got its own built in regulator. Very...

    Wall mounted regulators

Maybe you can use them in it, but I got N2 from iKegger. These ones (the pictures in both posts are clickable links):

Nitrous Oxide and Nitrogen are two different things. Should be no problem getting it. Unless the PSNI need education on the differences of course. Edit: I brought in 5 boxes of the bulbs from iKegger last month. No issues.

    Electric cars.

EVs are now much closer in price to their equivalent ICE. 12% according to New Automotive. Payback of that difference is less than one year in 30% of cases. Cost of insurance differs by model, but by and large relates to differences in performance, where only the smallest EVs will have...

    Wall mounted regulators

It's seems hellishly complicated. That regulator is pictured with a hose (which you need for your setup) but there are none that I can find on that site. You could always go with my solution to this problem:

    Wall mounted regulators

Have you got a mixed gas bottle yet? Because I think the fitting on those are a female thread as opposed to CO2 which is a male thread. So that hose will fit to the bottle, but the other end won't fit to your regulator. You'd need a hose with a male fitting on each end. I'm assuming this is done...

    Wall mounted regulators

The link states that the hose is for many different gases. Certainly lists usages like welding, which would use a number of different gases like CO2, Argon, etc. Can't find anything there that states it's specific for CO2. I see the regulator has a 'Type 50' fitting. Which I believe is an...

    Wall mounted regulators

Just trying to understand what your issue is. That hose should fit the bottle no problem, DIN477 is the correct size and the other end will fit onto the regulator being a male DIN477, so no issue there. Then the regulator (assuming it's the Kegland N2 reg which works for mixed gas) seems to have...

Boosting ABV in a Porter Recipe

Just on the yeast, the suggestion is to use different ones that complement each other in fermenting the more unfermentable sugars. Thus reducing the final gravity and increasing ABV.

    Gas Leak

There will still be pressure in the system. The pressure in the kegs will be pushing back on the regulator.
  19. Larse

    Gas Leak

Just to answer your question as I hadn't noticed it earlier. The regulated pressure will stay the same until the bottle is empty. If there's a leak anywhere, this won't change as the regulator will keep feeding pressure to the set amount into the lines whether it's leaking or not. So the main...

    Gas Leak

Trial and error might be the best way forward. Start disconnecting things. I'd start with the second regulator. Turn that off and if no change, then by elimination it must be the first one. Also check all the regulator fittings including the bottle connection and especially the nylon washer...
