    Homebrew has defeated me :(

I get that. A lot of the problems posters are having is the two threads. I'm hoping a mod can combine them to end the confusion. The general consensus is that the yeast is the issue. I linked another thread above which concerns someone having the same problem with the same kit and noting that...

Apparently he did. It's on the other thread he started.

    Sterilising with Videne

Videne (and Betadine - same thing) are antiseptics intended for use on skin. Can't really see how it would be that helpful for beer containers and utensils. I would have thought bleach* would be a better option. Open to correction on this. *You do have to make sure all traces of bleach are...

Very hard to find out how much yeast comes with those kits. I found another thread from 2021 about that exact kit and back then it was 5g according to the OP. Same problem encountered although FG was a bit lower.

He started another thread with more info here. Maybe a mod could combine them?

+1 Especially number 2. Lots of complaints about MJ yeast on this forum, particularly about it stopping early. One thread here.

    Wall mounted regulators

    He has more. Selling separately.

    Wall mounted regulators

I thought maybe you could pick up some second hand kit and had a quick look on adverts.ie. Came across this. Chap is selling a complete bar setup but doesn't seem to have a gas bottle that I can see. Probably won't split it, but you never know. And it does show that there are some out there...

Fair. But belt and braces I suppose. And a useful learning.

I suggested earlier that he make a starter from a new pack of yeast and then pitch that when it's at high krausen. Thinking that at 1020, it's pretty low, so new yeast might need a bit of a tail wind to get going and munch the rest of the fermentables.

Maybe she's towing a horsebox with a couple of nags in it? Newcastle to Kent, makes sense. 🤣

    Kegorator Gas connection

Our silence is guaranteed. Nobody will know. asad. I remember one of the Geterbrewed videos about the Femzilla and he was saying that if you lost the covering caps for the gas and liquid disconnect connections, that a coke bottle cap would fit exactly. Which is a roundabout way of saying that...

Also now that I think of it. She definitely said it was Newcastle to Kent and it cost her £300. It's around a 600 mile round trip, so that tallies up with the £50/100 mile statement. But. That doesn't include home charging, which, if you've any sense you'd use to fully charge before leaving...

    Electric cars.

Yeah. And even if it's a lower range (and I can't see how as she's pumping over 60kWh into it every stop) it still should have better economy. I reckon I'd get around 300km out of my car from 62kWh and that's me with a heavy right foot and the need for speed. 🤣

    Kegorator Gas connection

The new KegLand kegerator series X has something similar except it's just one. Wouldn't think it would be too hard to add on to an existing unit.

    Electric cars.

Am I hearing this right? £50 for 100 miles? Public charging in the UK is around 80p/kWh, so that's about 62kWh for £50, pretty much the fill of most longish range EVs these days (assuming you don't go below 10%). Something doesn't add up.

    CO2 suppliers

Might be worth asking at your local pub(s) to see where they get theirs filled. Edit: Also people with aquariums are big users of CO2, if you know someone with that setup, they may have an answer for you. Failing that, look for a fire extinguisher service company or refillers, that's where I...

    Homebrew has defeated me :(

So long as the probe is insulated from the outside air, that should be fine. Those heat mats usually have +/-1° variance, so they can go up to 21° or down to 19°. That shouldn't be a problem unless the fermentation itself gets the temp up further. You didn't say what the original gravity was...

    Restarting fermentation?

Glad I covered all eventualities so. 🤣
