Thanks for the kind words @SMP Brewery - I'm definitely going to reduce the amount of sugar in my batch prime next time I brew this. Guidelines did say moderate to moderately high, so I upped the sugar from what I'd normally do for a stout.

@SMP Brewery Tropical Stout 6% Poured nicely with an off white/ very light tan coloured head which dissapated about half way through the glass. Drinking the beer though, the carbonation is good. Aroma was immediately chocolatey for me, then a hint of fruitiness. Flavour was chocolatey too...

I'll take that! Pity the sediment kicked up - probably needed a bit longer to compact further. The sediment in my bottles have stick to the bottom. Next time I brew this style, I'll definitely lower the carbonation. Thanks @samale 👍

Plum! That's what I was tasting! Couldn't pinpoint the flavour, but now that you mention it, that's what it was!

Thank god for that! My own stock of Tropical Stout is very low! 👍

Just treat it like a normal stout. I fermented at room temp (20 to 22 degrees) for 2 weeks then batch primed and bottled. 👍

There's currently a winter swap going on for Tropical Stout. That style is fermented using lager yeast at Ale temperatures. I used MJ California Lager M54 yeast in mines and its turned out great. Go for it!

Fingers crossed it arrives then. If it doesn't arrive by next week, I'll send another bottle. Although, once the reviews are posted on here from the other guys, you might not want it! 😁

23rd. I got notifications of receipt into the system two days later for the other two bottles, then a notification of delivery.

Hmmm. I'm not very confident in its arrival, given the fact that I didn't receive a confirmation that it had been received in the system, when I did get notifications for the other two bottles. 🤔
