    Vienna Lager Yeast

You could try Novalager, it's OK at higher temps up to 20c although I've only used it at lager temperature of 13c. Higher temp supposedly can give a green apple flavour which put me off a bit.

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Finished the last of this English IPA earlier, Magnum to bitter otherwise all Challenger. Only a small 10L batch, very tasty I'll do this again. Not dissimilar to Proper job if I flatter myself !

Making a DIY all in one brewing system?

You could always save yourself the complications of fitting 2 x elements and drilling holes in your steel fermenter by going down the gas burner route with something like this https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product/7-5kw-gas-burner-and-stand/?v=79cba1185463 As already pointed out for anything...

    Leaky barrel tap

PTFE (plumbing) tape, wound counterwise to the thread.

What are you drinking tonight 2023.

Looks tasty! I also like Northern Brewer, I've got a couple of beers bittered with it about ready to keg - an Amber ale with Cascade and a Pilsener( though Brewfather calls it a Belgian single ) with Saaz. Nearly finished ploughing through my accounts for last year so feet up with this...

Fermenter King Junior used as keg: small pressure drop.

I'm no kegging expert but your beer will be absorbing the co2, usually the keg is kept hooked up to the regulator for this reason. Once it's sufficiently conditioned and carbonated in a couple of weeks set to lower serving pressure. Or if you dont want to wait force carbonate with short higher...

Bargain Fullers selection for a fiver, starting with the Golden pride. Rich dark treacley malt, a hefty strong ale but very drinkable !

Advice on upgrading fermentation method - pressurised? Temperature controlled? Both? Neither?

Being able to cold crash is another reason to have a temperature controlled fridge, I can also brew what I like in my shed over winter. Otherwise I'm still relatively stone age, 8 gallon pan on a stove. Pressure fermentation just seems like a bit of a hassle for me, but I'm not brewing massively...

Wierd stuff you take on holiday.

I built a portable carrycase to take regulator and a couple of 10L mini kegs on holiday this year, a Cali Common and an Amber ale. Also made a trip to Verdant for extra supplies though ! Other essentials are fishing tackle and a few books.

Help. FG 1030 should I bottle

This should be a 4% kit but as Sandimas noted, you added extra fermentables so the OG was much higher than it should be. That's why it's stopped short of the FG on the instructions, no amount of tinkering will get it down to 1.014. For a high gravity beer you usually need 2 x sachets to start...

Help my fridge keep it's cool!

Most modern fridges and their coolants are designed to work at ambient room temperature, you'd be better off with an older CFC filled model - or insulate your garage. I have a couple of fridges in my shed with no problem over winter but it's packed with celotex in the walls, floor and ceiling.

    What did you brew today?

18L batch of American amber ale, bittered with Northern Brewer then later additions and hopstand of Cascade. Maris Otter, Munich, light and dark Crystal malts. ABV 5.3%, EBC 26, IBU 34 A late start today so chilling overnight in the brewfridge, then pitch US-05 in the morning.

Nice, eating standing up is a small price to pay for a set up like that !

    Lager Recipes

Not done many lagers but had some success with Lalbrew Diamond, A pre prohibition lager with Hallertau Mittelfruh https://share.brewfather.app/6TFDmg5ZYMOKy9 and a Kiwi Pilsener with Nelson Sauvin and Riwaka. https://share.brewfather.app/Bcp1zxsjFp4ozE Fermenting a Pilsener with Northern...

    Wood burners

Changed the fire bricks on my old Rayburn today, not bad service since 1960's ! Had the chimney repointed and a new flue liner fitted a couple of months ago, both also well overdue, so looking forward to getting it going after a couple of cold starts this week.

    My first AG/BIAB brew!

I suggest trying Brewfather or similar if you want to rescale your kit, once you've got the hang of it you can make your own recipes easily. It will tell you what water volume you need to start and what the volume will be once grain is added. I don't bother sparging and just use a little more...
