    Kegs, "kegs" and other 'kegs'

Could be, these are the factors that always need to be weighed up dependent on use case. I have stainless for my more commonly used volumes (19l cornies and 5l stainless for taking to parties etc) and tend to use the plastic 10l kegs for smaller "experimental" batches.

    Kegs, "kegs" and other 'kegs'

If you get on their mailing list then brew2bottle tend to do a mail-out when these are in stock. There was a re-stock in June and then another in september so perhaps expect another one at some point this month or next 🤷‍♂️

    Kegs, "kegs" and other 'kegs'

Out of stock at the moment but I've found these preferable to the 8l oxebar kegs, and more economical than the stainless 10l kegs. I have a couple of stainless 5l kegs from brewkegtap and I find them really handy as well...

    Brewzilla Gen 4 ....Whirpool

With the heat plate thing installed, I still like to whirlpool and I get good clean wort out and leave a lot behind on top of the false bottom. It may be unnecessary, I haven't done a side by side, but I feel like it helps with the cooling to a degree and I'm getting results I'm happy with. If...

Brewzilla Gen 4 - Struggling to get to boil point

Lots of talk about problems with the gen 4, but I would agree with those that say that most of the issues seem to come down to user error in the end, or at least user expectations being misaligned with the realities of this type of system. The only place where I really feel that improvements...

    Secret Santa Reviews 2023

Just enjoyed my first, a cracking Oatmeal Stout. I tend not to drink too much stout but that could be because I've never made one as enjoyable as this! Not much of a pop on opening the bottle, but poured well and was carbonated to my taste! A very dark brown beer, close to black with a creamy...

    Good deal on Klarstein 65l?

I haven't used one, but looks like a good deal on the Klarstein Mundschenk 3XL (65l) all in one system right now. 50% off with code KS-SA5-LE0, and then £10 off if you sign up for their newsletter gets you a 65l all-in-one for less than £225...

Water prepping before all grain brew advice needed please

Peebee, this is fantastically helpful, thanks so much for taking the time to explain, and for building this highly useful defuddling tool! I really appreciate it, thank you 🙏

Water prepping before all grain brew advice needed please

Yes, I duly ignored most of the report based on your advice in this and other threads, and have taken the values I listed above from the "CHEMICAL PARAMETERS" section... but this leaves me without a bicarbonate or alkalinity figure :confused.:

Water prepping before all grain brew advice needed please

I'm really trying hard to understand this, but I think I may still have it all backwards! Is anyone willing to take a look at my Anglian Water report (attached here) and see if I have entered these figures correctly? It is the "Bicarbonate" that I'm struggling with... and I'm not sure if I've...

    Small batch brewing

You could do something like a Woodfordes Wherry kit and just brew one can at a time. Technically it would give you an 11.5 litre batch if you brewed it to instructions, but you could easily brew it short to 10 litres and it would still be good beer. That kit comes with two cans and two packs of...

    Rugby World Cup 2023

Well, I think it unlikely we're going to agree on this topic 😄 Looking at the results is one thing, watching the play is another. There are also other factors to consider; whilst Italy try to improve the other teams do not stand still, they are also constantly striving to improve their play...

    Rugby World Cup 2023

Pretty sure Georgia and Portugal have lost all their games so far, only drawing with each other? I think if you took a look at Italian rugby even 5 years ago let alone 15 years versus today you would see significant improvement. If you look to the youth team coming through, even more...

    No Chill in Cube Question

Where there is a hopstand or a whirlpool at 80c or the like, I was wondering about the viability of bringing the wort up to 85-90 afterwards and directly before "cubing" just as a safety measure... any thoughts on that?
