    Another camden question

Should i be putting a crushed camden tablet in my water before making a kit? I thouhgt it removed the chlorine taste from the water. Why isn't it stopping the yeast from working? :wha:

    18l cygnet?

Hello all, At work we have an 18l cygnet water boiler. I think i could "borrow" it, if you know what i mean. Would this be big enough to use as a HLT. :wha: Then i could use my buffalo purely for the main boil. :D

    buffalo boiler questions

Thank you. I'm on the case with the tap, just need to enlarge the hole to accept the tank connector. The camping shop will think i'm nuts if i buy any more roll mats

    Starting out

I think a homebrew shop is a good place to start. The one near to me set me up as a complete novice with the basic equipment and a lot of questions answered. :thumb:

    buffalo boiler questions

Hello Brewdudes and dudesses, I have a 40l buffalo boiler that will hopefully go into action soon. I just wanted to check if it needed any modifications so it maintains a rolling boil. Also, did i read recently that there was an optimum boil temperature? I should have writen it down. Many thanks...

    Forced carbonating?

:wha: I'm not sure i understand this. Is it a replacement for conditioning or just a different way of getting gas into a beer? Sorry if thats a daft question.

    Totally new to home brewing

Hello Bigbeer. Do not be afraid of asking what you may think is a dumb question. I am new here too but learnt lots by asking and reading. I do not use an airlock when fermenting beer. I just loosly fit the lid of the fv. Keg/bottles, both have pro's and cons. Either will do. CO2. I add to the...

Hello Brewsters. A St peters ipa arrived in the post yesterday and will get it on the go tomorrow. (thank you brew). I'm not sure why but i ordered some safale s-o4 at the same time. Is there any benefit of using this yeast over the one provided in the kit? I'm also going to rehydrate the dried...

    Home Brew Shops in London?

I know hindsight is a horrible thing and i only live 10mins from the colchester homebrew shop, but would it be wise to invest in a 2nd gas bottle to avoid the panic when it runs out? I must point out, i still only have one and will panic when mine runs out :wha:

    solvent weld?

I have used super glue on my copper joints in my recently made but still unused mash tun. I think they sometimes use the stuff to stick together wounds in hospitals. I figured if it was ok for that then i'd be ok too.

    cloudy beer

I'm having trouble with a couple of barrels not clearing as well. I've put it down to the drop in temperature so i've put them back in the warm for a bit with a big dose of patience.
