    New Here!

Hello Jay. For me it's Keg. I struggle to clean and sanitize 40 bottles. I do however enjoy a lager or a cider with some fizz in it. I hear the faint cry of a cornelius keg. Noooooooooo :)

Yes or you must be joking?

I have used the GW beer engine to help me with this. It's a simple recipe for two reasons. 1. To try and educate myself on basic flavours and 2. A cheap grain bill (hops i already have) to keep costs down. 23l Pale Malt 5200g Goldings 50g @ 90 Goldings 20g @ 30 Goldings 15g @ 15 43 EBU OG...

Burnt wort at bottom of boil kettle

I've had a thought. It may not be burnt wort but wort coloured scale. Either way the solution is the same.

Burnt wort at bottom of boil kettle

I get the same thing at the centre of my 40l buffalo. My hop strainer is a simple straight copper tube with holes drilled in it. To get rid of the burnt wort and scale i soak with a citric acid solution. It comes off quite easy.

    best transfer method?

Would it work if you syphoned the beer upwards as much as you could. Turn the tap off and then lower the syphon tube lower than the bottle. Then open the tap again. You my need more than one pair of hands. Hope that makes sense. I may try it myself to see if it works.

    One pb to another

Hello all. My old Boots pressure barrel has a crack in the lid and leaks gas. I've tried a repair but it no work. At the moment it holds my 2nd AG brew; the stout with no name. It tastes lovely even when flat and i don't want to lose it. If i go and buy a new pb and transfer, do i need to add...
