Hey peeps I bottled my beer on Saturday and there appears to be a layer of white stodgy stuff at the bottom of the bottles. I know this is probably normal but just looking for a bit of reassurance (I'm such a noob haha) Cheers

Hi all, I started my brew on the 11/7. It's still in the FV, the gravity seems to be stopped at 1012 and has been there for about a week now. The instructions say I should only bottle at 1008. The temp in my house may be a little under 20 degrees. Should or wait it our or is it worth bottling...

I'm not concerned about it to be honest. If anything I might turn out a bit stronger and like you say enhance the flavour. Just confused me. It smells delicious so far.

Hi, I am into my 8th day ofbrewing better brew Czech pilsner. I have just checked the gravity which is at 1012 so it's not far off. I have noticed that my brew has gone from 23 to 22 litres. Is this normal? I am half thinking I didn't fill it upto 23l now Cheers

I think Star San is the way forward for me. The less effort the better IMHO ;).

Hi, I started my first lager brew yesterday. I'm gonna bottle it in two weeks as per instruction as long as fermenting has completed. I am buying 40 bottles with caps and a capper because I'm a sucker for authenticity. Has anybody got any tips on the best way to sterilise them. Cheers

Just checked, it's a 30L and not 25l. Thanks for your replies, I'll go with resting the lid on top because it requires the least effort lol

There's no hole in the lid, I think it's a 25l FV
